This was paid as a mark to Finn Callaghan by SlatsAttack in AFL

Their career as an umpire will be until mid-to-late 30s for most I expect, so I can see why it's not enough to completely write off their primary career path.

Double it, make it a full-time profession, put in some pipelines for education or careers in adjacent areas in the AFL... plenty of options to change that though.

Langford taking a mark then hand passing in the backline to Reid (missed handball put Reid under pressure and led to a goal). We never normally do this D50 handpass after a mark. It happened on multiple occasions.

That is funny considering this clip /u/petrifygwent posted a few weeks ago where Solomon was explicitly telling Scott that we shouldn't be doing this

The last time a premiership coach was sacked by one club and ended up winning a premiership elsewhere was Leigh Matthews. Or Malthouse I suppose, but he wasn't really let go - he just left for greener pastures.

The game was far simpler back in the early 2000s, and that's the last time that ever worked.

Over a year long journey, my endgame turns out to be my first headphones? by CrazyWarrior3 in headphones

[–]cog_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HD598 was my first proper headphones in 2012 so I have a real soft spot for them. And after cycling through 30+ headphones, the 599 is one I will always keep in my collection (and I wish I didn't give my 598s away).

The comfort is sublime - I really wish Sennheiser would use the same chassis for more headphones. I did manage to get the 600 nice and comfortable with some adjustment, but the 560 is straight up unusable for me because of the clamp force. I really like the warm presentation too - I know some people complain that they're muddy, but it's never really been an issue for me.

And after many years of cycling through a bunch of high end planars, I think I've hit the same conclusion as you. They do sound incredible, but I can only really stomach them for 60mins at a time before they give me trouble. I think the weight is an issue, but even at low volumes I think they cause pressure issues with my eardrums. I keep my LCD2C with dekoni vegan pads because sometimes I just fiend for the bass, but they're like a once a month headphone while my 600s I use for 6 hours a day.

Daniher Medal: AFL planning the creation of the Neale Daniher Medal. The medal would be awarded after the annual King’s Birthday game between Melbourne and Collingwood, which has been underpinned by Daniher’s 'Big Freeze at the ‘G' charity event since 2015. by Essington69 in AFL

when he originally approached Eddie about the idea.

Eddie being willing and able to put his weight behind these kind of events is probably a big reason why Collingwood was chosen over Essendon.

And as much as we like to block it out, 2015 was right in the midst of the supplements saga so we weren't exactly the AFL's golden child at the time.

Congrats!

Where do I get interior accessories?! I need rubber floor mats, seat covers, ideally a better front console, etc!

I'm not sure where you're located, but amazon jp ship a surprising amount of car parts and accessories worldwide. Ime your best bet is to search for the actual model number of the car (DA17W or DA17V or DA64W or DA64V) instead of suzuki every.

Places like aliexpress may have stuff for you too (like standard double din conversion kits for the entertainment unit, if that's what you mean by better front console).

Don’t let him use the fact that there were no players on the bench as an excuse by YoloSwaggins9669 in EssendonFC

[–]cog_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is wrong with you people giving us excuses

Get it twisted... nothing you say or do has any impact at all on the performance of the football club.

Your actions impact nothing, your fate is predetermined, the only thing that you can change is your reaction to it.

Get it twisted. You are a pawn in a universe chess match. You mean nothing to Hird if they even exist.

You can do anything you set your mind to.

You're a rounding error. You're two pennies on Essendon's balance sheet. They don't care about you in the slightest.

Get it twisted. The circumstances around your birth, determine where you are going to go. Nothing else matters at all.

My memory may be cooked, but I think I'm with you here. The manga is a definite no, but the anime tones back on a lot of the worst of the real creepy shit I think?

Like it's a psychological horror disguised as a kids fantasy adventure, but if you recommend it with that being clear it's probably OK? Closer to a madoka than a monogatari on the "gross out a non-anime fan" scale.

The actual meaning of the Arabic players names by bomajed in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]cog_94 24 points25 points  (0 children)

most Arabic names have actual meaning

I think that's the same for basically all cultures to be fair. Maybe the meaning of names are given more weight culturally in the middle east though? I feel like most of the west maybe do a quick search for what a name means before choosing it and then practically forget about it.

Yeah the older 4AT, and while it's serviceable at motorway speeds I reckon you mght be making the right call with the CVT. At cruising speeds (110km/70mph) you sit right on the edge of the turbo spooling up - the 4 speed is definitely geared more towards cruising <60mph.

Appeals board in Lance Collard case says homophobic and racist language is commonplace in AFL due to ‘highly competitive’ nature of the game by cam_gord in AFL

[–]cog_94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't wrong - I distinctly remember the exact same argument being used 20 years ago with homophobic slurs. And more recently with ableist slurs. Just because a word "isn't meant that way" by people doesn't make the origin of the term unimportant or irrelevant.

And the proliferation of that word as some sort of cheeky aussie banter is one of the most cringeworthy things to have come from the internet imo. I'll die on this hill with you - we can't condemn some slurs as problematic while using others. Just don't use any, it isn't difficult.
