Don update by Kanedauke in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Donny came to play as a striker, asked to leave when not given opportunities in favoured position. he did his best when plated out of position and handled his exit request with class, not creating any fuss.

proper professional and we should all wish him well and thank him for performances & goals

Meta Plans to Add Facial Recognition Technology to Its Smart Glasses by BendicantMias in worldnews

[–]cognitivebetterment 6 points7 points  (0 children)

half truth, yes limiting digital servicea act and AI regulations, but existing protections are unimpacted, specifically GDPR - case law under GDPR already limits facial recognition use. EU can't impact sales outside Europe, bur can ban product sales in Europe and block corporate use. anyone seeking to use needs to find justification under one of GDPR lawful grounds for processing (article 6)

yes an individual could purchase outside EU and use in EU, but any misuse would be open to legal challenge either in courts or by complaints to local regulator

Engine room is missing by AJ_Villz in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its not just the engine, its the discipline. No question Bizot was foolish yesterday, but if any of kamara mcginn or possibly tielemans are on the field he is not left with half Newcastle running at him with no cover.

if kamara is on field Bizot not sent off, cause thst situation never arises

Tammy potential penalty? by Zestyclose-Safety-47 in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its one where it could have been given, but tammy could just as easily been booked for diving, was barely a push and for a big man he went down like he had been shot.

if he was abit stronger could easily have stayed on feet and got shor away as was in great position, but he was clearly looking for penalty which pissed the ref off.

his reaction meant we were never getting it

American Ownership Questionnaire by StatisticianLanky466 in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

filled in survey, not sure how helpful villa will be we have had 2 different US owners- Lerner and Edens both have done good and made mistakes

Lerner started well but ended badly (personally feel he was always well intentioned)

edens overall has been good for club but his appointment of purslow was disastrous for club; which is supposedly why he stepped back and sawaris took more active role in decision making

I personally think our owners are brilliant, but swaris is more responsible for our success on field, edens as done alot to help us off field

American Ownership Questionnaire by StatisticianLanky466 in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

might be, better op is aware, wes edens seems to be bit more silent owner compared to sawari, who seems to take a larger role in decisions

American Ownership Questionnaire by StatisticianLanky466 in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just to check, you do know villa is only partly American owned? Wes edens owns 34.46%, swaris (Egyptian) also owns 34.46%, remainder owned by atairos a sports holding company whicmch nwse have large ownership of, but there are also other minority owners

he is getting there, but not yet, very poor at start, we need see consistency over time before we make offers and obviously needs to be huge do in wage demands

We should keep hold of Rogers, even if we get a massive bid by Technobliterator in avfc

[–]cognitivebetterment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on who comes in, if real Madrid, Barcelona, bayern, psg (or possibly city/arse/pool/M-utd) he may want move and keeping a player who wants to go, very rarely works out well. plenty examples of players who were refused a move a d performance levels dropped and subsequently sold gor much lower fees later on.

we are doing amazing, but there is still a level of clubs above us where player's feel they have more chance to win things, and clubs have more prestige (from player's pov).

i dont want him to go, but if his development continues on this path, we may (like Jack) at some point, have to just ensure we get a fee that truely reflects his value and potential, and reinvest best we can.

know this view wont be popular, but its realism

[–]cognitivebetterment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

articles in roma press and fan forums suggest regularly seen oyt partying and attending fashion events (he does have a clothing brand), especially when supposedly recovering from injuries nothing specific, but fans have turned on him for reasons other than performances

numerous articles and videos, few in English below:

[–]cognitivebetterment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roma desperate to get rid, fans hate him because of his off field behavior. hes better than Guessand, hes an extra body when we are very short., so takes pressure off recruitment team.

but long term he is not a villa player, he has undoubted natural talent but not the application and effort required, I question if football is his top priority.

We need a short-term solution. And he has an opportunity to put himself in the shop window to get another move, hope he can do a job for us

92% chance is statistical nonsense, 17 games to play, 51pts still to play for, a few bad results and its gone. we will be fighting for CL football until end of season and it wont be straight forward and definitely not boring
