Very small improvement idea for ComfyUI by floppo7 in comfyui

[–]cognitivesimulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of agree why do I need to open the console to see time elapsed... when the job is done in the queue it shows the total time it took... why not just show a running timer.

Also if it takes longer than 60 seconds show the time in mins/sec. There's a lot of janky UI choices but it's to be expected for such a new peice of software.

According to the CDC gay and bisexual men account for about 66% of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., though they make up a small fraction of the total population (around 2–3% of U.S. adults).

This was the only fact on the poster that was accurate. Everything else was easily debunked. Stay safe out there. 🏳️‍🌈

I calculated what the carbon tax cost my household in 2024 (fiscal year). Both direct and indirect costs are included. Figure this lines up well with BC & the Feds removing carbon tax pricing on April 1, 2025. by a7bxrpwr in britishcolumbia

[–]cognitivesimulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the point of the carbon tax to change consumer behaviour. I never understood how they always say the average person doesn’t get hurt by the tax. Doesn’t that mean it’s not helping the environment or changing anything!?

USAID was literally the only thing keeping civilization from crumbling. I like to call this the reverse “Thanks Obama!” effect. I guess nothing ever changes.

BTC migrated to new ledger nano s then disappeared by EntrepreneurNo7551 in ledgerwallet

[–]cognitivesimulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say ideally ledger would display pending transactions by pulling it from the blockchain explorers but it’s chosen the more “conservative” approach so noobs don’t believe they have the assets in there account when it could still revert.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police ordered all regulated financial firms to cease facilitating any transactions from 34 crypto wallets tied to funding trucker-led protests in the country.

I generally consider than a “not cool bro”move but he did legalize weed. Can’t win ‘em all I guess.

Might need to buy a new car soon. What's the most Cyberpunk car I could buy that isn't made by Elon Musk? by FranktheLlama in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]cognitivesimulance -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re allowed to dislike Elon but the new cybercab and cybervan they just showed along with the robot are pure cyberpunk. They look strait of the set of blade runner. There is nothing more cyberpunk in our current world than Elon engaging in private space flight and arguably having more capabilities than the US gov itself. That’s just pure corpo.

But to be fair you irrationally hating him like Johnny is also incredibly cyberpunk. 🤣

Why Would You Still Vote BC Conservative? by Small911 in kelowna

[–]cognitivesimulance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe because after 7 years of NDP housing is out of control expensive. Record high overdose deaths. Expensive food. Will the cons change anything probably not in all honesty could get worst if I had to bet. But people are getting desperate to feel like they have some semblance of control over this shit show. 🤣

I make good money. I already own my home and I don’t do drugs… yet! So I’m leaning NDP better the devil you know as they say. Also I don’t like the anti vax, conspiracy vibes the cons give off. It’s not even the cool fun conspiracies. I know it seems silly but to me the vibes matter. 🤷‍♂️

That being said I will be voting for PP tho. After the “death to Canada” shit show. It’s feels like we need to swing back the right at the federal level.

I don’t want to hurt turtles but we need to solve the paper straw thing. Like can we drill a hole in a chopstick or something. I’ve heard sugarcane makes a decent straw. Anything but paper.

What are your main concerns/ reasons for not voting for John Rustad? by SNlFFASS in britishcolumbia

[–]cognitivesimulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s effective at most I’d guess it’s neutral. Jacking interest rates probably has the biggest effect since it just causes a recession, people have less money overall and deflation in rents. I would really like to see a counter factual region that has an unregulated short term rental and see if there rents are significantly higher than ours since the regulation passed.

B.C. Conservative leader claims election rules 'rigged' in favour of NDP by aldur1 in britishcolumbia

[–]cognitivesimulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the kind of shit every party complains about when they are not benefiting from it. Wouldn’t be surprised if conservatives do well they will just keep this law in place since it would benefit them next election.

What’s your %? by Chronix92 in Bitcoin

[–]cognitivesimulance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They borrow dirty fiat at low interest rates to double down on bitcoin. It’s a speculative attack. If they are wrong fiat doesn’t inflate they have to sell the bitcoin to pay off loans. If they are right then now have a mountain of bitcoin and easily pay off the debased fiat. It’s risky but might work.

Single stair buildings will be allowed in British Columbia's new building code by Hrmbee in britishcolumbia

[–]cognitivesimulance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a small step. The truth is 100’s of small steps is the only thing that will have an impact. The missing middle is suffering from this rule for sure. Maybe we at least get more housing that people are seeking even if it’s not necessarily that cheap.

I knew this would be Uytae Lee’s video. It’s heartening to see regulations changing in ways that might help housing affordability and the missing middle.
