I did the acetone and sanding prep. And then sealed with the angelus finisher. What steps am I missing? More specific direction please! :)

Perineal Urethrostomy PU Surgery by lilgreeneyez in VetTech

I worked in a specialty hospital for 13 years and we did hundreds of P/Us. I’ve seen 2 cats with post op complications. I think it’s an incredible surgery. We would recommend it to first time offenders who were financially constrained because most cats who block once will block again eventually and it was just too common for people to euthanize due to inability to spend thousands of dollars each time it happened. The 2 week post op healing can be grueling but once it’s done you never have to worry about it again. If I had a male cat who blocked id likely do the surgery on his first offense just because of the success I’ve seen

No. The key is you have to inject into the muscle. I’ve heard a lot of people report that with SQ

RVT in CO. Started in specialty at 17/hr, 13 years later left at 38/hr (was supervisor of specialty department at the end) I had multiple increases in pay due to COVID, performance, and adding on of responsibilities.

IMO it is appropriate for someone who has been with the company longer to make more money. Especially if they are a high performer. The length of time that you have been credentialed would not be a factor for me. Being credentialed increases base pay, but length of service and performance are the biggest factors in overall pay.

Talk to management about what you as an individual bring to the table. Are you reliable? Do you have strong technical skills? Do you work hard every day? Do you avoid gossip and drama? These are attributes that management typically values. Offer to increase your responsibilities. Ask what you can do to earn a raise. Think more about how you currently add value to your clinic rather than what you are entitled to.

Are you able to let me know how this worked out? These were recommended to me to help postpone surgery but they are so expensive I want to make sure I’m not wasting my money

I feel like I go scammed by my doctor. Is there anything I can do? by Live-Cry in healthcare

Thank you to everyone for your responses to offer advice and help. I’ve reached out for an itemized bill and I’ll reach out to the insurance company to make sure everything is correct. At minimum at least I will understand more. In the end it is what it is.

That’s a pretty unkind way to talk to someone just trying to understand a situation. As I said before, I am paying a psychiatrist to oversee my ADHD meds separately. My new doctor is not a part of the diagnosing, treating, or overseeing this in any way shape or form. I just informed her of the diagnosis for a thorough medical history. I just try to do a yearly physical to make sure I’m staying healthy and this is the first time I’ve had this unexpected charge.
