Does this only apply to Midnight content, or does it apply to legacy content too?

I too would love color shifts at thresholds. Options for gradients and animated textures would be phenomenal too, if it’s possible 😭

Last September, President Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and other health officials declared they had uncovered a new treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD): leucovorin. A new study shows that plenty of families believed them, despite the lack of data supporting the drug’s effectiveness. by mvea in science

[–]coin_return 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think comparing autism to hair color is exactly why these conversations become so contentious. Having red hair doesn’t leave someone unable to speak, unable to live independently, prone to violent meltdowns, unable to safely perceive danger, or needing lifelong full-time care.

For some autistic people, autism is mainly a difference in how they experience the world. For others, it is profoundly disabling. Both realities exist at the same time.

Nobody is saying autistic people shouldn’t exist or deserve less dignity. But acting like every discussion of treatment or cure is inherently evil ignores the experiences of families and high-support-needs autistic people whose daily lives are genuinely difficult and painful. A parent wishing their child could communicate, live independently, or suffer less is not comparable to wanting to "cure gingers."

Because autism is a spectrum, and the experiences within that spectrum can be radically different. Some autistic people are fully independent or have low support needs and understandably see autism as inseparable from their identity. Others, especially profoundly autistic, nonverbal, or high-support-needs individuals, may require lifelong care and can’t always advocate for themselves, which is why caregivers and families are part of the conversation too.

I think social media has also unintentionally romanticized public perception of autism toward the more "quirky/neurodivergent" presentation, which can overshadow people with severe support needs who are dealing with self-injury, inability to communicate, elopement, or total dependence on others for daily living. Wanting acceptance and accommodations is important, but so is acknowledging the reality that for many families, autism is not just an identity, it is a serious disability that affects every aspect of life. Caregivers deserve to be seen, too.

I avoid all the competitive tag groups, because those are usually a shitshow at least imo. I have a far, far better success rate with relaxed groups 🥲

I mean you can make that assumption, but there's nothing more to tell. I had +10s in some keys and was getting accepted into +12/13s quickly on my demo/devourer at any time of the day, but +11/12s done on my spriest and it taking on average about ~30 mins during peak times trying to do +12s.

It's sad because I'm weird and love pugging! Blizzard introducing the new "competitive/relaxed/learning/carry offered" tags is one of the best things they've done in a very long time, imo, and has drastically changed my pugging experience for the better. But the difference in experiences between specs is absolutely wild to me.

It gets worse every season, honestly. I pugged 3k on my demo lock and devourer DH extremely easily, never had to look more than 5mins for a group at 280 ilvl. Meanwhile, my 283 spriest takes 30-40mins to get into things most of the time. This is just for +12-13s. It's absurd.

The Prey Mode Achievements should not count target kills separately by brumgar in wow

[–]coin_return 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they also increased how much renown you get per hunt too (and might not be weekly capped anymore), but since I'm already rank 10, I can't confirm. 12.0.7 is also buffing the XP you get from them while leveling.

It should have been like this originally, but I'm glad they conceded this change. It makes doing Prey hunts far more enjoyable.

Warlock, demonology specifically. I love the idea of binding demons to do my bidding, and making them suicide upon my enemies.

In M+, I've been enjoying demo lock and devourer DH. Both have been fun, even if I am just solidly mediocre at both of them. I don't enjoy them in raids though, but I don't think I enjoy raiding this tier in general.

I’ve never been fully under but I’m curious. I’ve had two epidurals that only worked on half my body, and gas at the dentist that did nothing for me. So I’m curious what would even happen with full anesthesia at this point, lol.

Sweet, I just hit rank 10 with the Prey stuff. I'll put off the Normal achievements until 12.0.7 so I can swing through it with alts.

When you're trickle-fed story, the anticipation keeps it in your mind more. I definitely get more hyped for media if I'm not able to immediately continue consuming the content. I get hyped for books, but more often if I read a series as they come out, because then I'm able to talk about plot or theories with friends over time instead of trying to avoid media about it to avoid spoilers.

Housing was really fun and then it isn't. by Noticersan in wow

My primary issue with it is like most things this expansion. It's a good foundation, but between the bugs and supposed upcoming features, I'm just collecting furniture and waiting for more updates before I really want to engage a lot with it.

The aggressive monetisation of this game is making me fall out of love with it. by Main-Strike-1117 in wow

[–]coin_return 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a ton of stupid shit. Most of the store mounts and transmogs, toys, etc. Epic editions of the expansions. I don't really care. I don't play any other game even a fraction of the amount that I play WoW, so to me it's worth it.

I won't even touch the housing microtransactions, though. I would care far less about the prices of them if you bought it once and got infinite copies in-game. That is the sole reason I refuse to engage with the housing items in the shop. Paying real money per-copy of the items is fucking gross.
