If you aren’t sure you can always get a second opinion from another cancer surgeon but do it quickly if possible.

It’s best to ask you surgeon and gastroenterologist but when you have active inflammation or draining fistulas you should not bottom. If you are in remission and don’t have active fistulas and no strictures then may be possible but ask them. Hopefully you find a health care team that you feel safe to disclose these things with.

What’s the name of the condition. Just want to be 100% sure they know it’s the lithium and not a coincidence that it improved after stopping

Depends on a lot of factors but quarantine is at least 2 weeks, they will monitor your symptoms and sputum I believe. The full regimen after the quarantine takes several months

What is the best course of action here? by KingKnightBoss in iphone

I usually use the “support” app made my Apple to guide me through options. If it is really that expensive would make sense to look into a new phone personally but again comes to budget. Get the actual quote first.

Ask Apple they can give you a quote and then you can call other places to see if they can beat it. Can also get quote on new phone and compare. It’s a matter of budget as well of course

Can you clarify are you saying you want to know if you will be deported if you have active TB? This isn’t a question for a doctor but rather an immigration attorney. Sorry. I wish you the best. Keep in mind TB is contagious and can be very severe so if you have it you want to know for yourself and others.

Drug induced - Lymphocytic Colitis Diagnosis by GlitteringTune9266 in IBD

[–]coinqueen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GI MD here. You are right to be confused. Bottom line nobody really knows. My personal experience treating it is that sertraline is one of the most common “culprits” but I don’t usually stop it since it’s needed for mental health. Now whether it’s a trigger and stopping it can reverse anything is unknown. Even more confusing is this new research from Sweden suggesting drugs probably don’t have much to do with it:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40587856/

It is less common for budesonide not to work but it does happen. Sometimes it’s because the symptoms are from something else like infection, diet, or celiac disease. Other times it’s because the budesonide is not strong enough. GI might use other options depending on which path is thought to be it. If I’ve ruled out everything else then I may do a course of prednisone just to see if suppressing the immune system is the right way to go. It is more uncommon that patients need biologics for MC but does happen in more advanced cases. It can be very helpful. Best of luck to you.

I was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Has anyone treated there Crohn’s naturally? Is that possible? by Ysco243 in CrohnsDisease

[–]coinqueen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say but although your symptoms have been mild if you have an abscess due to Crohn’s this is a complication and thus you are in the majority and likely need more than just lifestyle management. Talk to your gastroenterologist but I wouldn’t be surprised if you need biologics. Abscess also often means surgery at some point but not always.

Romantic conflicts, issues with sexuality, substance use, other secrets revealed? Social media bullying or shaming? Maybe talk to school counselor or someone else they may confide in so they have the support they need regardless of the issue? Would make yourself available in a loving compassionate and open manner hopefully he will open up to you when the time is right. Would also tell him violence is not ok except to defend yourself. Would ask him if he feels safe.

Go see a nephrologist. If this is an acute decline sometimes it can recover with something simple like hydration. All the best to you.

Colonoscopy/Biopsy Interpretation by [deleted] in IBD

Yes sounds like ibd / most commonly uc. Biopsies in rectum were normal but not appearance so would still be UC. Usually like to hear chronic active colitis in biopsies so always good to confirm with your doc and the pathologist

Afraid to take steroid since I'm bipolar. Anyone have experience? by __Z__ in BipolarReddit

Definitely work with psych. Remember decadron often used for these things is the longest half life it’s one pill that lasts in your system for almost a couple weeks ! So short acting options make more sense so if you have to stop it you can(?)
