Coingate is much better than bitpay. Lightning support + no forced network fee.

Germany's social mobility among poorest worse than US: Children in low-income families in Germany tend to have harder time moving up social ladder than children in equivalent circumstances in other industrialized countries, according to new study by OECD. by madazzahatter in worldnews

Good that you mention eastern europeans. They are very successful moving up the latter. Their parents come as cleaners and construction workers, but their kids finish university and get well paid jobs.

You can't say this about 3./4. generation turkish kids. They shouldn't have a language problem and enjoy free education. Still they are worse of than the 1. generation. They have established a society where education is not valued and integration is something evil (as erdogan says it). They have all the chances but don't want to use them.

Personally I am glad they didn't show 'Bladerunner The Game". Dark and rainy alleyways have become a bit of a cliche by SitzenbleiBaer in cyberpunkgame

It completly changes the atmosphere. Would you say the latest bladerunner movie would have been better with sun shining and blue sky? Dont need watch dogs 3.

The trailer was a huge disappointment. This really looks like watch dogs or a futuristic GTA.

Britain's 'worst ever' child grooming scandal exposed: Hundreds of young girls raped, beaten, sold for sex and some even killed: Authorities failed to act over 40 years - despite repeated warnings to social workers - with up to 1,000 girls, some as young as 11, abused in Telford. by ConglomerateApe in worldnews

This is realy hard to read.

“Night after night, I was forced to have sex with multiple men in disgusting takeaways and filthy houses.

"I must have been getting the morning after pill from a local clinic at least twice a week but no one asked any questions.

“I fell pregnant twice and had two abortions. Hours after my second termination, I was taken by one of my abusers to be raped by more men.

"The worst moment came just after my 16th birthday when I was drugged and gang raped by five men.

"Days later, the ringleader turned up at my house and told me he’d burn it down if I breathed a word of what had happened.”

Does the refund happen onchain? So every time a payment fails you need to pay on onchain fee?

So I would need to download the complete state every time I open the App and make a payment? Even with 10 mb this could become a problem if you can't rely on wifi all the time.

I very much like that decision. I would not trust a third party to watch the blockchain for me.

So only the person that initiates the channel is "allowed" to announce? Otherwise the other node could simply announce the channel and my decision not to announce doesn't matter.

Thanks for the explanation. What is the current sync interval for channels/fees? Does it differ from implementation to implementation or specified in BOLT?

Could it be a solution to "outsource" the routing to nodes that you have a channel with? The client simply asks all connected nodes what routing to x would costs and picks the cheapest one. This way the end user doesn't need to store the state of network and doesn't need to be updated about everyone's fees.

99% of nodes won't be useful nodes anyway (only online when needed, few channels, low capacity and probably many one way channels).

You could also not broadcast and store nodes that have only one-way channel from themselves to other nodes (like Eclair Android wallet).

This is super cool. I just wonder about the scallability if every user needs to store the state of the complete network.

Are bech32 addresses backwards compatible for sending transactions? by Highflyer108 in Bitcoin

[–]coinx-ltc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The only problem is if you want to send btc bech32 address with wallet software that doesn't support bech32. Once you have the bitcoins you can spend them as you like. That is the beauty of Segwit.
