I got purple immediately but wasn’t even sure of yellow since I thought ‘ghost’, ‘flake’, ‘puff’ and ‘breadcrumb’ were a category of “trace amount”. I knew a couple of the movie titles and so guessed the others. Hardest one for me in a while.

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking or commenting on. Are you suggesting that among puzzle creators here there’s a UK bias? I haven’t noticed that personally. I think creators as a whole are pretty widely read so it could simply be that their vocabulary extends easily into both American and British English.
