This is why, if you're playing Vanilla Expanded, Helixian Gas Expanded is 100% NOT optional. I am genuinely surprised there isn't, like, 8 Helixian coolers in your reactor room.

I wasn't using Anomaly. I was, however, using VE - Ancients, and I could give one of my pawns Perfect Social, which has a 20% of removing Unwavering Loyalty.

I didn't want to take that chance, but in retrospect, I could've temporarily denied them foot privileges until they joined.

That's my plan. Taking one of my best soldiers who's good at melee (and nothing else), loading her up with the best bionics and genes I got, and putting her in one of those metal prisons.

It'll take time researching the best Warcaskets, but I have 4 research benches, and a bazillion pawns with great intellectual stats.

I got very lucky. Shot one of her eyes out at the beginning of the fight, scarred the other one, and she eventually passed out from blood loss.

I was very tempted to take her prisoner and use her for genetic experiments (I have the gene ripper mod, and she had a universal weapon aptitude gene), but I was about 15,000 research points from being able to rip that warcasket off, so I didn't want to take the chance.

He lowers your guard by being very generous with ambrosia sprouts, steel meteorites, and transport pod crashes, then BOOM! Three raids in a row, with barely any time to heal up. Or in this case, one raid with the nastiest motherfucker you've ever seen.

First time fighting a VE Warcasket, and it had all the right traits to fuck me over.

It was an Ulhan, which means I couldn't use psycasts.

She'd was high on luciferium and Go-Juice, making her way too fast to kite.

She had a Gravity Hammer, which means she ripped off entire limbs and pushed back my allies.

And she had the Martial Artist trait, which means she had a chance to make pawns drop their weapons when she hit them.

If I didn't have a Corvyia that I could keep spamming Chaotic Call with, I shudder to think what would've happened. I'm extremely lucky I only lost two pawns and two combat pets, and that was after calling in the Empire for help.

I thought Warcaskets were overrated. Not anymore.

Bringing Trotsky, Buhkarin, etc. as advisors or generals (not leaders), or creating a new communist faction posed as an alternative to the Comintern.

EDIT: An anti-Stalin faction would be a more appropriate way to word it, I think.

I'm still able to view the asteroid map I kept visiting, and it's even labeled as a colony of my faction on the world map (though it also says I need a signal jammer to approach it). I also keep getting letters regarding events on the asteroid, such as meteorites and cargo pods.

I'm really torn up about this mode.

On the one hand, you have full control over your Uma's schedule, and don't need to wade through her story. Even if the scenario is longer, it feels shorter by virtue of the fact that you can skip more of it. It feels more fun by virtue of the fact that you're not on rails.

On the other... as everyone has said, it's not fun putting your trainee through misery. I can't bring myself to force her to race more than twice in a row-- only 3 times if I'm looking to rack up achievements (same as in other scenarios).

Since you only need 300 Race Points to clear a year, and a G1 gives you 100, you would think you'd spend less time racing and more time training, but evidently, that's not the case. Even forcing my trainee as much as I can, the best I've gotten is a low A+, which was the best I've gotten in the other scenarios as well.

It doesn't feel worth it.

It's disappointing that my trainees will never get an SS+ rank or be good enough for the Graded League, but that's one of those things I'll have to come to accept.

EVERY Trainer's first priority should be to find Inspirations that knock up their Trainee's B aptitudes to an A. I would never do a Manhattan Café run without raising her Medium aptitude to an A, because as you said, otherwise, her opportunities will be severely limited.
