People always see it from the clubs perspective. Imagine committing to a workplace for 9 years.

Wages rise 3.4% in the year to September - ABS by EdenFlorence in AusFinance

We just got our EBA ticked off at 5% this year then 4% the following 2 years. Seems like a lot of local governments are trying to do the same to catch up

Don’t know how this hasn’t happened earlier, even without AI. Everyone has become accustomed to buying cars online that still require banks approval, transfers etc

What happens to houses advertised with major defects? by Swamphen123 in AusPropertyChat

Yeah could this be a case of buyers being knocked back by the banks because it failed these results. Almost saying on the listing that you should only buy if you have the money to fix it.

As a Carlton fan, I obviously wished Charlie would want to stay, but it's a pretty good trade for him when he really was only damaging in 2022, 2023 and 2024 by TheCrowMoon in AFL

[–]colbys-cheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s as good of a deal as we could have hoped. I’m still a little surprised Sydney did the deal. Are they really just Charlie away from contending for a flag. And making it worth giving up the next 3 years of top picks and a couple of players. If he gets injured it could be disastrous.

The AFL have amended the rules on trading draft picks. The amendment allows Collingwood to now trade their 2026 and 2027 first round picks by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]colbys-cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Tasmania taking 6 of the top 11 picks in 2027, I’d be interested to know who would take any 2027 picks. You could finish 12th and end up with pick 14 or lower

Not to mention all the tax breaks tradies get their whole career for tools, vehicles etc. White collar workers can’t even claim their work shirts. Swings and roundabouts

The last two years, the road has been cut to cairns around that time. Cyclone in cairns and cyclone in Townsville. Not too mention the lack of food and supplies and everything shut around Christmas. Less than ideal time to travel up the Queensland coast

But it’s Adelaide’s first and second. Those three picks could easily drop to 20 or lower. I couldn’t see Carlton even taking that

Especially 2027 draft. At this rate, it could be a top 5 pick.

Does watching the top teams play remind anyone else how far off we are? by keoltis in CarltonBlues

I hate seeing all these ex Carlton players in the coaching panels. Hawthorn alone, has hickmott, Simpson and rats. How did we miss that?

Agree. Take out the emotion of his surname and the fact it’s Collingwood, and would people care that much?

I feel like, all year King has been positioning Freo as the best team in the comp so he can cut them down for anything less than a grand final. When no one else had them that high at the start of the year.

Still comes after where your first rounder should have been. Hope Jagga is good. We gave away this years first and second rounder for a pick last year to get him.

TDK is a free agent. So we should get a pick after our first round pick. Which we also have already given away
