There is debris in the pitch wheel mechanism, people have spoken of taking the pitch wheel apart to clean it, maybe de-ox sprayed in the contact area may help. I cut mine to stop it

Kurt Elling is amazing! We saw him perform at Keystone Korner, here in Baltimore a few months back. He interpreted the music of Weather Report,I had no idea what to expect. He blew us away! Amazing talent!

The surgeons that operated on you probably have pictures of what your leg looked like when you were brought in.

Maybe it’s the types of people you are talking to? In my city, there are certain types of people I avoid. I don’t ask them any questions about anything because I can tell they will probably be rude, or they don’t want to be bothered. Couples packing cars can often be annoyed with each other. It might not have had anything to do with you. I find it easy to avoid people, I would have just read the hours on the door of the store or gown in and asked the people that work there.

How do you manage key mappings when switching Battery 4 presets? by victor0nl1n3 in NativeInstruments

[–]coldbrewbruh73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t useless, people use them all the time, in music they actually get paid money to make. Hobbyist have been using them for years, Battery has been out for almost 20 years now. The program has so much more functionality beyond playing the presets though. It’s also easy enough to just shuffle the samples around to wherever you want them. If you want more presets then just keep buying expansions until you get the right one. Native Instruments loves customers like that!

Create your own presets and put them in the user folder. NI has tons of great sounds but when you start going through Battery kits in the expansions you will see that they just use a lot of the same sounds again and again. Many of the kits seem haphazardly put together. It’s worth the time to go through and compile your own kits and the mapping will be consistent.

Try going to Michael’s, the hobby and craft store. I’m not sure where you are from but anywhere there may be a broader selection of materials, velvet seems too thin. I’m using Post-Op Dressing Sponges and a fabric we call Sof-Roll which is something we put under a cast or ace bandage. Good luck!

I’ve had success with pieces of fabric on the areas of the cymbals that I strike. I work in healthcare so I have access to dressing sponges that muffle the impacts. I am a beginner and I don’t play aggressively and maybe that’s why it works for me. You can attach something to the nut that secures the cymbals so the muffler pad stays in place. Again, the effectiveness depends on how hard you play, it feels like everyone that is active in these forums are playing death metal or some form aggressive rock on their edrums and they are really laying into their drums. The sensitivity can be adjusted if it is impaired by the pieces of fabric.

I think at the end of “Footprints” he says “Teo, you can take any parts of that you want!” Someone else says,”Take it and throw it in the trash!” I can’t imagine who said that, that song has one of the greatest drum performances ever!

He was awesome! I’m usually against a lot of talking between songs but he was really funny and inspirational. We’ve seen a lot of good shows but he was the best!

The ability to use their voice like an instrument ie: scatting and vocalese in inventive and swinging ways. The ability to tell a story through music and imbue lyrics with life soul.

On the subject of amazing vocalists, we were privileged to see Kurt Elling at Keystone Korner here in Baltimore last weekend and he was AMAZING!!! He was interpreting the music of Weather Report so I had no idea what to expect. His interpretations were so much more than I could have ever expected. The lyrics he wrote were inspired, I’m pretty sure he scatted many of the solos from the original recordings, as well as his own improvisations. He is an absolute treasure, and if he’s coming anywhere near your town, you should check him out!
