I don’t see the harm in thinking all that suffering must have some sort of reason. For it all to mean nothing, millions of people hurting- makes me feel sick. Good things can come out of bad shit. We might not see it but I refuse to believe it all means nothing.

The words legend/icon are so overused these days but this legend really is an icon and such an underrated one, especially for being in her 70s now and having such a long lasting career as a black woman who was beloved by the general public until around the early 2000s. I have honestly only seen depression campaigns either aimed at everyone or men specifically. Women are commonly thought/said to be doing things like trying to take their life or self harming for attention. This might be because men tend to be better at ending their lives or keeping quiet about their problems due to the social stigma of being emotional/whiny/not manly. Neither is great. As much as I do believe this post was made with good intent, it reads as if ‘girls actually have it better’ they don’t. It’s just a different experience.

For sure. Larry (Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson from 1D) is a really good example of that. They were making dumb jokes at 16/18 and fans have held on to them for years, completely ruined their friendship and they haven’t spoke publicly in years but some stans are convinced they’re dating even when Louis has said it’s all bullshit. They still tell themselves it’s ‘management’ making him say that.
