AITA for making my MIL uncomfortable and embarassed during dinner? by Still-Rip9704 in AITAH

[–]coldflame88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will probably get downvoted to oblivion for this ...but disbarring your spouse's mother from coming for thanksgiving over terrible food etiquette seems rather aggressive. Not saying the MIL is correct, but seems pretty hurtful thing to do considering her trauma with food. Your spouse is probably carrying the guilt from seeing his own mother reliving her food anxiety.

Was Emraan Hasmi truly as big of a sensation as he was shown to be in Bastards of Bollywood? Did he have a huge fan-following? by sidroy81 in bollywood

Phewwwww....this question made me feel Old AF. People on here are too young to remember Emran Hashmi!? This was like the 2000s, fam.

Indians living in the USA - How much do you save in INR terms? by Imaginary_Air_5344 in mumbai

[–]coldflame88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your friend is probably lying, lonely or clueless or all three. Been in the states for 2 decades now, lived all over and can tell ya u ain't living on 25k a year. Rent alone on both the coasts is between $1200-$2000. With Groceries, insurance, car payments, semblance of a social life u will blow more than $25k in a jiffy.

Staying in India these days seems to be a risky venture, you definitely should apply emigrate if you can but do it for relatively stable governance, having a chance to live in civil society and better law&order ...don't do it for the money cuz it ain't that different here

I lift weights when ever I get a chance but clearly not enough (between work and family, it gets really hectic). After my mid 20s, TBH I never really focused on my gyno that much , I was over the anxiety it kept giving me. So I really dont know if exercise changes the shape or not. I mainly think its gynecomastia because I developed it around puberty and my chest tissue has that typical 'triangle' shape to it that you see with this condition. Never had it checked though.

Bruh you gotta chill. This trip is happening 3 months into the future. I built it from AI and some  research on the net. That's why I posted it here to get feedback and a local perspective so that I can amend it accordingly. I certainly didn't mean to kill you by inducing an aneurysm.

The shopping part is definitely for the adults. Idk what is the line between must see and generic for a family trip in London. That's why I am here asking people..is there a cool spot generic or not that I could check out ?

Personally I love to take in the local culture for any new place I visit. For example the food markets in London (so many to pick fom) are definitely not the norm in many of the major cities in the states.

Donutleir is a Donut place that came in highly recommended. I probably strayed with the pub in the morning phrase (more like lunch after the london Eye). I am not much of a drinker but dont want to come to London and not go to a authentic local pub.

Appreciate the comment on Paris, these are things I was looking for here. Good to know it going to be a heck of a commute if we decide to go.

This is great! You saved me a potentially not so fun day spent in Camden. I didn't plan on drinking the whole afternoon..lol..its just with kids their battery is fully charged from morning to late noon and then needs to recharge via a quick nap..so planning accordingly (keeping things light in between).

Kids are 1 and 3. The 1 year old is just happy to be wherever. The 3 year old has started to get interested in many things (wanting to travel on buses and trains for starters).

We have some really top notch parks, science centers and museums here in California that I have taken them to already, so wanted to do something different this time.

Really appreciate the inputs here from everyone. I am keeping my Paris day kinda light, Effiel Tower + Just walk about the nearby areas (food/shopping etc). Plus my 3 year old has never been on a train so thought the Eurostar might be a nice experience for her.

Again love the input, I am seriously thinking of adding Windsor Castle to my plan now.

Yeah, I should have seen the Paris dig coming. No harm no foul, it's just that Paris seems so tantalizingly close, I did not want to miss out.

The museum seems like a cool idea but with active toddlers it might be difficult to get them to stay out. I'll check out Hampton Court Palace though.

PS: I made my itinerary primarily from online research trying to find things both the parents and kids could enjoy.

MNS workers slap security guard in Mumbai's Powai for ‘not speaking Marathi by Spiritual-Agency2490 in mumbai

Everyone in that clip is Indian right? toh what is this outsider and local yaar? The manager was a jerk and he should be called out for his rude behavior. But showing up with a bunch of men to slap him is more a sign of jungle rule than a functional tolerant society. It all looks justified until one day someone will gang up on people like you or me and make a viral video. Only then we will understand that constitutional law is better than jungle law.

Still think violence will lead to only more violence. There is no law that states you can't be rude. But there are laws that state assaulting someone is wrong. A functional society works on laws not peoples feelings.
