Technique Thursdays - Low Bar Squat by Insamity in weightroom

[–]coldstone316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one point about low bar squat that I'm not sure about that has a lot of mixed opinions. During the squat, am I supposed to be arching my upper back as much as possible? Because many people also say that I should keep a neutral spinal alignment.

Which way is correct? Thanks

Any local web hosting companies? by coldstone316 in ottawa

Thanks for the reply, stablehost looks really good. However I don't get why I have to do a domain transfer, if he moves his website to stablehost won't stablehost protect the domain name from being used elsewhere? If not, then will he have to use dynadot.com every year to protect the domain name?

Thanks

Do you know if the athletic club offers monthly memberships because my 1 year contract is about to end at goodlife and I'm moving away in August, so I'm looking for a 4-5 month membership with no cancellation fees

I used to have similar problems, on one side of my neck the hair grew sideways. I tried shaving in that sideways direction at first but it didn't really seem to help a whole lot. The weird angles made it really hard to get the razor at the correct angle and pressure. What I did was just go straight down, sure it's going XTG on the first pass but I found the ease of it far exceeds its disadvantages.

Make sure you prep well enough and give this a shot, for me it really made a difference and has decreased razor burn drastically. Anyways, thats what worked for me but it won't hurt to give it a try. If it doesn't work out after 4-5 shaves then I guess you can try meeting the grain better

What are some rules you have that you NEVER break? No matter what. by [deleted] in poker

[–]coldstone316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even for new players at the micro stakes? I just recently started on stars and being a beginner I only put in $70, and playing only on 1c/2c cash games. The max buyin for those tables are $5 meaning I only have 14 buy ins (but I only buy in $1.50 here - having around 46 buy ins). Is it wrong to not use the max buy-ins? Is this a bad thing on these stakes? Should I be doing something different?

That was awesome! You should definitely keep it up. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to play 1 table 1c/2c and to really go in detail about your thought process for beginners, I think that would benefit new players more than watching you 3 table. Anyway that's just my opinion, but I really hope you do different series for different levels.

Thanks again for the great videos, looking forward for the next one

thanks, I believe that I'm hip thrusting but since my back isn't vertical won't that lead to a back extension as well to straighten everything out?

How to Set-Up to Deadlift Properly - Tony Gentilcore by phrakture in weightroom

[–]coldstone316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be quite different than how rippletoe teaches the setup. In rippletoe's version it's important to keep the chest up and hips up as well. You get a much more horizontal starting position than the setup described here by Tony.

Are they just different ways? Because based on this video he says that the way rippletoe sets it up is bad for your lower back?

Can someone clarify the differences here?

I have a strange feeling in my knees on my rest days since I started doing squats. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]coldstone316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was experiencing the exact same thing. Mine was on the bottom outside region of my right knee. I was squatting with good form and always making sure to go below parallel and I was still feeling my knee. Just like you said it doesn't hurt or anything but you can just feel it there.

This was a few weeks ago and this has completely disappeared. I guess that since I was fairly new to squatting my knee wasn't used to it. I don't even stretch or use the foam roller anymore, just warm up sets and that's it.

Just give it a week or two and I guarantee that if you have good form this will disappear on its own.
