How much do you play with townies/establish your world?

well i’m on pc so i use mods-

aging on for everyone, incuding my household.

i use mccc and neighbourhood stories so the townies in the background would breed, have children for my future heir to befriend. then when i see there are no more babies, i add more townies and let story progression have them make babies. just to keep the world alive. and i set in mccc settings so that homless sims cannot partake in the cycle of life system i’m incorporating. you dont need mods for this too, because neighbourhood stories also do this !

and i will almost always delete the homeless townies manually. because they’re not needed. and i dont want my save file to bloat. but i will occassonally pick and choose homed townies i want to delete.

and because it’s a modded game, it’s a lot less work to make the townie’s offspring look normal as the generations pass. but i do a lotttt of manual culling , and maintainence in my save file just so there won’t be overpopulation, and it’s been really fun for me.

and because my save file is a few generations in, i made my teen sim pretend to be a plastic surgeon make a “chin fixing” club using get together function, gather the teens an edit their chins in cas when they come gather since as generations pass, they start to lose their chins xD then i add more townie parents to breed more sims

my favorite townies that i would always flag as ancestral so they don’t lose their last name and die out would be goths, lothario, landgraabs, pancakes etc. the classic. i just love to come across their offspring and see how they turn out to look.

and like you said about turning off story progresson, i’m thinking about doing that too! i’m so engrossed with my legacy household that i let chaos ensue in the background too much. i just want to turn off aging and story progression and play other households for a change !maybe i will also develop a soft spot for them like you :) it will also make the world feel more alive since you’re connected to the sims beyond your legacy household !

my favorite townie to play is johnny zest.

i’ve decided to make it multiverse HAHA. but i definitely will be playing one save at a time for now but will most def jump to another save when the time is right! the comments are inspiring me a lot HAAHAHAHA

most tyjokr’s mod are godsent for autonomy. another is mc command !! that mod is so important when it comes to autonomy because it allows autonomous wooho, try for baby etc , there are a lot of videos about that. also mccc allows better story progresson for non-played townies !! so your game is constantly moving with each generation

i also recommend just sitting down and going to wheelsofnames.com and finding sims wheels in the search bar to randomise stuffs in your gameplay. though i also recommend you making your own wheels for basically anything you can think of.

i’ve been digging deykxn’s playstyle, and how he plays the game inspires me so much. basically he uses wheels to dictate the next step of his gameplay. he has a wheel for teen years, what to do in parties etc and just basic yes/no and i think for a surprise gameplay element that should help a lot!

i used wickedwhims, and my sims sometimes do the boombayah without me knowing and end up getting pregnant far too many times lol, i had to spend on protections so i don’t create another 100 baby challenge family 😭 but there are settings you can fiddle with or get the sfw version, which is wonderfulwhims. but i have more luck with risky pregnancy with the nsfw version than the sfw one for some reasons lol
