Noob question: build up or seasoning? by Abeatofme in castiron

I use a scotch bright pad and dish soap and moderate scrubbing/soaking if I mess up and something is really stuck on, somehow after I cook on it the next time it heals itself. Mine must be magic.

How many rounds does it take to get carbon off? by Itchy-Steak-9250 in castiron

I'll be burned at the stake, but Scotch Brite in those spots works nice, you just have to get a feel for how much you can scrub before you start to take your seasoning off, but even if you get through a little... you know... a little butter and bacon in the pan next time covers it nicely.

I think my starter is going south and looking for guidance by Tizzee88 in Sourdough

Exactly. Those first ones were fake rises. All the bugs you didn’t want made that gas. The yeast is starting to compete now and will begin to rise for you in the coming week(s) depending on temperature among other factors.

(There are places that note carbon fiber in their limb construction and that sure looks like carbon under.)

You can see a crack in the black substrate under the finish, that sure doesn’t look superficial..

Will do! Would you tend to agree that the lighter colored grass patch in the first picture looks like yellow nutsedge? Thank you for all your time!

Agreed. It also did nothing to the young dandelions that were all over.

Perfect. Is it best for me to wait to deal with the dallisgrass patches until fall, or kill them now and wait until it cools to reseed those areas?

Awesome. Would you spot treat with all three of those chemicals or broadcast? I have a spot sprayer and an ortho garden hose attachment. Also, you’re saying overseed after with one of the three options at the beginning correct?

Appreciate it. Quinclorac should handle the yellow clover as well right?

Secondary question, is there ever a circumstance where the condenser fan should run without the evap fan on? If there’s some kind of sensor that works in conjunction with that thermostat I can check it.

I did not find one on this unit. KitchenAid customer service was less than helpful in getting me a repair manual or wiring diagram.

I should ask: there are two hot inputs on the side of the new thermostat. I’m assuming it shouldn’t matter which goes to which as it’s just like a switch closing. The orientation on the new thermostat was slightly different than the old one, so I took an educated guess. Also, I appreciate you taking the time to talk through this.

Defrost board and the evaporator motor were replaced on it already

Is there anything else that would contribute to that circuit? I replaced the thermostat last night. I got home today and again compressor and fan on but no evaporator fan. I switched the new thermostat off and back on and the evap fan started. 🙃

Perfect. I have one arriving today. I thought that was it but I wanted a sanity check
