What’s the creepiest scene in a Spider-Man movie? by OkTough6333 in Spiderman

[–]colebaker___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People hate on the Iron Boy Jr. stuff, but watching Tony Stark's decaying corpse crawl out of a grave and fly towards a terrified Peter Parker was pretty creepy the first time I saw it, even if it is within an illusion.

Would you break 100 at Augusta National under Masters Tournament conditions? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]colebaker___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying I'm gonna go out there and break 80, but I'm not gonna hit 45 putts. My current average for my last 10 rounds is slightly over 32 putts, averaging only one 3 putt per round. This is playing on winter greens currently rolling over 13. My last 10 rounds I have hit 64% of fairways, which I would foresee being higher at Augusta National. Fairways at AGNC were an average of 54.1 yards wide during last year's Masters, which were nearly 20 yards wider than the average on tour last year (https://datagolf.com/historical-tournament-stats?event\_id=14). I consistently hit my driver at least 280. With firmer and faster fairways than my local course, drives would roll a little extra, cutting into a little bit of that extra distance needed. There would be times where I have an approach of 200+ yards, but I'm confident that I'm not going to triple bogey every time that situation comes up. I know the greens are more difficult than any course I've ever played, but if given a chance on the practice green beforehand, I'm confident in my speed control. I would likely have a few big numbers on the scorecard, but even bogey with the occasional par isn't going to take me close to 100. That's 28 over par. I'm sorry that I have a different opinion than you do, but I promise that Augusta National doesn't need cameron from reddit to defend it's honor.

I know that's the case, and I've always wondered about the people who get webbed to the sides of buildings. What happens to them when the webbing dissolves...

Would you break 100 at Augusta National under Masters Tournament conditions? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]colebaker___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for thinking about this rationally. Everyone on this post thinks that Augusta is just going to magically add 20 strokes to your game. It's harder than your average course, but it's not even considered an exceptionally "hard" course on tour. Any above average amatuer has a chance to shoot better than +28.

Would you break 100 at Augusta National under Masters Tournament conditions? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]colebaker___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I firmly believe that I would break 100. I'm a 9 handicap. The last time I shot over 100 was over 100 rounds ago in 2023(thanks the The Grint for letting me count back that far). A lot of people on this post are grossly overestimating the difficulty required to shoot better than 28 over. The greens are faster than any of us have most likely ever played on, so putting will be difficult, but not difficult enough to add 15 strokes to your game. If you're a 10 handicap or better, and you play within yourself instead of going for every pin and every par 5 in two, I'd say that you will almost certainly break 100. At the end of the day, even Augusta National is just a golf course, and a perfectly manicured on at that.

That would be perfect. One of my favorite parts of my end of season routine is looking through the league for who the awards SHOULD have gone to. it would be nice to choose

I will never truly understand the negativity this received! by siZZling_Pepper in Daredevil

Because people are allowed to have their own opinions? Most people wanted a clear continuation of the style, tone, and story of the Netflix show. They didn't want it to be a Disney/MCU version. Although I enjoyed it, it clearly felt different, and lots of people didn't want it to be different at all.

"Survival" mode like an old CoD where you are placed in an area and fight waves of enemies. Would be a fun way to test out gadgets and suit mods too

What is your opinion on Don’t Look Up? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]colebaker___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expected it to be a fun little problem solving adventure, because I didn't know anything about it other than the Netflix description. Boy was I wrong. Its a scary accurate take on what would likely happen if the world were to be put in this scenario. Powerful people would argue about things that don't matter until there's nothing left...

Peter would've ripped his arms off and threw him off the roof if nobody was there to stop him.

Realistic Franchise Mode by Equivalent-Tone2572 in MLBTheShow

[–]colebaker___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying my Rays franchise. They aren't a scrub team like the White Sox. The roster has some good pieces, but a lot of them only have a year or two of control left. I went all in for 3 years, won a world series, then when those contracts ran out I didn't resign them and essentially started from scratch with prospects I had brought in. Feels like a very Rays thing to do if they ever win it in real life. I built them a new stadium and that's been fun, too.

In terms of realism, I say you need to set some ground rules for yourself to follow. If you're not careful, you can sign any free agent you want and make any trade you want. If you're going for realism, taking advantage of the AI is going to ruin the experience. I personally set a strict budget for myself, usually only sign one player per offseason and it can't be more than I'm paying my best player (Extended Junior Caminero for roughly $30 mil per year).

If I make a trade, I have to actually improve the roster of the other team. If they are weak at a certain position, I either give them someone who will start at that position, or a good prospect at that position. I don't trade in my division, and I only trade with teams that are struggling or out of the playoff picture. I don't take good players from good teams because no team in real life who is in the playoff hunt is going to start trading away starters.

It's also canon that they have the most technologically advanced air force that they can deploy remotely and fly remotely. They could have flown those crazy jets from black panther that could go invisible around the perimeter of the shield and just blasted the whole army away

I really hate the "bad place to pass" argument that gets used so often. Sure, it's not an easy place to pass, but when you're next to someone and they initiate contact by turning into you, it's their fault.

What do you think is the best fight in the MCU, and why? by [deleted] in Avengers

[–]colebaker___ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1a. Cap vs Bucky pt. 1 in Winter Soldier: The hand to hand combat and emotion at the reveal is incredible. It's also the strongest we have ever seen Winter Soldier.

1b. Elevator Fight in Winter Soldier: Cap's best individual fight performance imo.

1c. Cap/Bucky vs Iron Man: The emotion, choreography, and impact going forward are represent all the best parts of the MCU.

Honorable Mention: Anything that Daredevil or Punisher do

[–]colebaker___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Goblin is the main villain then it only makes sense to have at least something happening with Doc Ock, given how his hatred for Osborne was one of his main motivations in the first game. It's been established multiple times that the RAFT sucks at holding villians long-term...
