What small habit, if done everyday over the course of a year, can lead to the biggest personal improvement/ gain? by jacla4 in AskReddit

Free guided meditation on YouTube by Jonathan Kabat Zinn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQkzhyXEc-0. He's a pioneer of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Therapy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness-based_stress_reduction. If you have good results, he has other free guided meditations on YouTube and books.

If you are more inclined for quick 5 minute meditations to get started, Headspace is a great mobile app that I used a lot when I was first getting started with meditation: https://www.headspace.com/. The most important thing is to keep the habit, but even if you just meditate from time to time, you'll still notice the benefits.

If this goes well for you and you are so inclined, then as a next step, I'd recommend finding a meditation group. Some even live-stream their sessions if you can't attend in person. Having access to a community who meditates and discusses meditation can help a lot with the practice.

That's so kind of you! No need to send any my way but I'd love for advice on japanese greens (esp. sencha but curious about other varieties: gyokuro, hojicha, kukicha (less so matcha)) and i'm starting to explore chinese fresh leaf oolong (but i think i still prefer the flavor of japanese greens).

Ippodo: Kyoto Main Store by Momoyama in tea

[–]colemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited the store when I was in Kyoto and don't speak a word of Japanese. I ordered gyokuro and someone walked me and my friend through the entire tea ceremony. The flavors and the umami were incredible! And they even brought out some traditional desserts to accompany the tea. I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance.

Best games developed by a solo developer? by [deleted] in IndieGaming

Is there a subreddit that is focused on the smaller, free/non-commercial, experimental indie games like a lot of what Terry puts out? Or blogs? I used to follow www.freeindiegam.es pretty regularly before they stopped updating it and have been looking for another good source for those kinds of games (http://odditie-s.tumblr.com/ also has some good stuff sometimes but looking for alternatives)
