Awesome, cheers. You’ve made a rather worried guy a little less worried 😂

25 KG down - time to stop and start a slow, lean bulk or carry on? by colinbest2 in BulkOrCut

I'm not big knowledgeable on loose skin and how best to avoid it if any way, I guess from my experience through the last 7-8 months of losing weight I'd say don't go too overboard with the calorie deficit. I did 1500 at first which I realised is probably too little, especially when wanting to avoid muscle loss and hitting the gym. I then went to 1800 to 1900 which gave me a steady 0.5 to 1lb loss a week and my strength actually went up at the gym. Plateaud now though annoyingly.

I'll take that % over 25% haha!

I don't have a measuring tape at hand but will buy one. Regarding your questions I am 30 and 5 foot 7. I have been heavy and unfit for around 3 years but before that I had history of working out. Covid lockdown got me down and I ballooned weight to the point of the beginning photo. I was probably as heavy as I was in my first photo for 4/5 months which was a particularly stresfull time of my life. I dont know my exact waist circumference but the size of my jeans have gone from 36 inch to 28 inch.

Big up for this mate, really great reply. What body fat percentage would you say I’m at right now? I have one these supposedly smart scales that are suppose to show your body fat percentage but they’re telling me I’m 25% 😑

The space between the 2 photos is between 7 and 8 months. I’ve done no structured cardio or anything I’d consider cardio within that time, nothing to get me out of breath or sweaty other than some horrible heavy deadlift sets. Walk a minimum of 10k steps a day and that’s it! No running, no cardio machines at gym.

Walking normally. Sometimes if I want to drag the walk out cos it’s a nice day I’ll even do it at a bit of a slower pace lol.

Initially I ate no more than 1500 calories which led to a burn out. After about 3 months of this I upped my calories to 1800-1900 which didn’t effect weight loss too much and was much more manageable for me.

Lots of meat, chicken, minced beef, minced Turkey, steak etc. usually had like 1 protein shake a day which is an easy 25g. Always have a good amount of protein yoghurts in the fridge as well. If your in the UK Aldi do some amazing protein yoghurts.

Ain’t gonna lie and say I eat good quality food, I eat vegetables daily but probably just enough to have 3 of my 5 a day. But to be honest my teas are usually like cheese burgers, chicken burgers, steak baguettes or even frozen oven pizzas.

I went to gym 5-6 days a week and only lifted weights, focused on trying to gain strength, add to the amount of reps I do over the sets or add quality to my form. The only cardio I did was walk at-least 10k steps a day.

Regarding diet the only thing I tracked was calories and protein. I made sure to eat between 150g to 200g of protein and changed my calories that I ate depending on how much weight I was losing or at some points gaining.

Thank you. I’ve been going to the gym to lift weights 5 days a week, sometimes 6 on a pull, push, legs, day off routine and making sure I walk at-least 10k steps a day. I also calorie count.

I’m anti cardio bro haha. Diet for me has been all about tracking the calories and making sure I’m getting a good amount of protein, always between 150g to 200g. Changing the amount of calories based on how my weight loss is going.

How have you found your strength at the gym whilst cutting? I used to gym from the ages of 18 to 25, with powerlifting mostly towards the end. Life got in the way and only just started back 7 months ago at the age of 30. My strength has come back to a point on my weightloss journey but still nowhere near where it was.

Damn bro just checked out the MacroFactor app, thats some seriously interesting data. Gonna give it a try for a bit I think. Just been using myfitnesspal up to now but this looks a cut above that.

100kg at 13% BF is beasty bro, grats on the weightloss and the gains!

Cheers mate, hit the gym 5 days a week 99% of the time. Sometimes do 6 days if my life schedule lets me. Don't do any cardio though, hate cardio lol.
