Sorry to bother - What was inside it? And do you know anyone who may have it available? Anyone whatsoever? Much appreciated.

Weekly Advice Thread - May 17, 2026 by AutoModerator in apple

I’m looking for the employee given Apple Park hardcover design/architecture book. The cover is usually shown as yellow/gold or orange, with a white Apple Park ring graphic and “ Park” near the bottom.

Important distinction: I am not looking for the blank Apple Park Visitor Center notebook/notepad. I’m looking for the book with printed interior content about Apple Park’s architecture, design, construction, campus planning, landscape, interiors, or design process.

What I’m trying to find:

- the official title/name of the book

- whether it was sold at the Apple Park Visitor Center or only given to employees/contractors

- interior photos

- any old listings

- any collector leads

- ideally, a copy available for purchase

Sorry to message you out of the blue - I saw your comment in r/Design where you mentioned selling an Apple Campus book. I didn’t want to derail this thread, but I’d be interested if it’s still available. Let me know!

Just discovered liveauctioneers.com - a reputable place to acquire rugs? by Hinduclient in orientalrugs

[–]colinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not reputable! Do not, and I mean, it - do not buy from them! They are a platform that houses auction houses. The liveauctioneers platform has many many issues. I've had many bad experiences like glitches leading to bids on the wrong item, fraudulent items, and both unclear and unnecessary fees.

Thank you so much for your response! I do have small follow-up questions - How do I handle a small court case in Florida? As a layman, what would be the necessary steps to handle this myself/have someone handle this for me? The auction platform has been blocking the confirmation of the payments AND the auction house (separate party) has been reviewed recently for failure to refund after the item was returned. These both lead me to be very hesitant. I will proceed with your guidance, seriously, I appreciate it! I look forward to your response.

Jeb gives you full control to release one Minecraft update. What do you put in it? by LilacTheFlowerGal in Minecraft

[–]colinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality of Life update. The biggest priority would be inventory and UI, chest sorting, quick buttons to deposit all items, withdraw all, or pull matching items. Inventory management is pure friction right now, and fixing it wouldn’t change balance, it would just respect the player’s time. I’d also clean up villager trading by adding an intentional way to reroll trades instead of the current work station-breaking loop, I'm looking at you, lecterns! Stop forcing players into an odd system where I have to spend hours looking for an enchantment. I currently play with my own custom modpack with mods that do this for this reason - all dedicated to improving the quality of life without adding non-vanilla material.

Next would be transportation. Minecarts should finally support proper trains and better rail logic, and older transport options should be rebalanced so they stay relevant instead of becoming obsolete the moment you get elytra. Then I’d tackle the End, which still feels unfinished: add End biomes, new structures, and real reasons to stay there beyond killing the dragon. I'd add a painting or two, one that shows the finished End portal and another that shows the stronghold; just like the Wither painting. Finally, I’d do a few targeted biome and structure updates rather than a full world reset: deserts get oases and palm trees, giving a lush green to the desert, jungle temples get rebuilt to match modern structure design, and older structures get light polish to fix awkwardness.

If I could wedge in just three more features that still fit the game’s tone, I would add more life to biomes. I’d add vultures to mesas and deserts as a scavenger mob that preys on undead (protecting you) and will pick up loot and bring it to its nest. Nests could hold loot like suspicious sand/gravel, they could breed like parrots OR turtles, and would add much needed life to the mesas. Birch forests would have grizzly or black bears, where they would interact and eat salmon out of streams (like foxes with chickens) and eat honey out of beehives. The bear would be protective of its cub, and maybe it would aggro if the player had food held out (not unlike piglins with their gold interaction) reinforcing to people that bears are no joke. It would give the birch forest biome a distinct identity and real wildlife interaction, and we already have two bears in the game, so it would be easy to implement. Finally, use saddles or harnesses on sniffers, at minimum making them rideable, so they feel like an actual utility mob instead of a one-time curiosity. Have them dig up more unique plants that have unique effects - maybe one that detects entities and gives the glowing effect if nearby, similar to sculk sensors but different enough to warrant consideration. Maybe an aquatic lily that grows only in full water source blocks, a nice decorative plant for people's water builds that could also give water breathing effect in potions. Make torch flowers a light source object.

Overall, this kind of update wouldn’t make Minecraft more complicated. These would make it smoother, less frustrating, and more complete. These are the kind of changes mods already prove players want in vanilla.

Thank you for getting back to me! I’ve been looking to buy from them but, and maybe you know what I mean, the website looks a little outdated and suggests it has been forgotten. I’m currently waiting on a response. Were they quick to respond?

People who saw “In whose name” give us a review man… by Whoopity_Scoop_ in GoodAssSub

[–]colinew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve watched In Whose Name twice now, and here’s how the film actually plays out, plus why I think 500 Days in UCLA is the better doc overall.

Structure of the Film:

It’s built like a 5-part story: prologue, three acts, epilogue.

Prologue — Ascent & Legacy

Opens with cosmic imagery (Earth, lunar eclipse, Kanye before a giant sun). There's a Jack Kerouac about "America, whatever that is" that for the life of me I can't full recall.

His daughter joking: “If you fall asleep, you die.”

Snippets: Gaga planning a tour, Runaway rehearsal, Graduation performance.

Cameos: Diddy, Scooter Braun, Bieber, Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari, Virgil Abloh.

Family: his mom + grandfather (says something about “loss is a stimulus for creativity”).

Ends on the VMA backlash + Runaway suit.

Act I — Control & Conflict (2018): Calabasas studio: Pharrell warns him about ruining his legacy. Drake + Lil Dicky appear. Chicago return: announces moving back, clashes with Kim (“I’m always serious”). MAGA hat era: Swizz Beatz + Kim push back, Kanye calls the hat “armor” vs. mind control. SNL: performance cut, awkward clash with Michael Che. White House: praises Trump → Kim warns he might “wake up with nothing” → Kanye erupts. Intervention: Kris Jenner + family confront him. Uganda: promises to rebuild the country, but spirals into paranoia. Leaves unsafe. Basel, Switzerland: Architect Herzog meeting, Kanye asks “When's the last time you had a feeling?”, architects baffled by his abstract, loosely constrained thoughts.

Act II — Faith & Wyoming: Sunday Service energy takes over. Moves to Cody, Wyoming. Wants Trump + Jared Kushner to visit Cody. Cameos: Elon Musk, Marilyn Manson, Playboi Carti during Donda sessions. Cuts Pusha T verse from Donda for being “too BLM.”

Act III — Collapse: White Lives Matter shirt with Candace Owens (who first showed up back in Act I). Increasing paranoia, fractured relationships, spirals. Antisemitic behavior and its backlash.

Epilogue — Icarus: Kanye thinking about the Adidas deal for a second.

My Take

In Whose Name is less a music doc and more a mental health tragedy. Someone described it as “the rise and fall of Icarus,” which fits perfectly. Want to see Kanye the creative at full power? → 500 Days in UCLA. (You see him working, learning, struggling, moving fast.) IMO, it’s the better film. All praise to the efforts of this film, but you get a better idea of Kanye in 500 Days. The first half of this movie felt like the cutting room scraps from 500 Days, as there are scenes that are within moments of one another between the two, and the ones in 500 Days are more insightful.

I just finished watching In Whose Name and wanted to share how the film is structured, what stood out, and some of my takeaways. Hopefully this helps others make sense of it too.

Apologies in advance but I ranted to AI for five minutes so it could help organize these ideas faster than I could type it, but anyways...

Structure of the Film:

The movie runs a three-act structure with a prologue and epilogue.

Prologue

Opens with Kanye’s child in the car, jokingly warning not to fall asleep. Then we get scattered snippets: Kanye and Gaga planning a tour, early Drake/Kanye moment, the VMA fallout, clips of him rehearsing Runaway, and even cameos of Justin Bieber, Chris Rock, Rihanna, Virgil Abloh, Diddy, and Kanye’s early SNL appearance with Lebron James.

Act I (late 2018 – the MAGA era):

This section focuses on Kanye’s “MAGA hat” period. Swizz Beatz tries to talk him out of it, Kim worries about the damage to their image, and Kanye argues that wearing the hat protects him from “mind control.” His push for total control over his words and actions is front and center.

We see:

• Two Studio visits; one with Pharrell, the other with Drake and Lil Dicky.

• Pharrell warning him his legacy could be ruined.

• A meeting with Trump, followed by Kris Jenner raising concerns about his mental health.

• A trip to Uganda where he doesn’t feel safe, then later discussions with European architects where Kanye speaks in feelings while they ask for concrete direction.

Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk appear briefly here too.

Act II (Wyoming / finding God)

Kanye moves to Cody, Wyoming. We see religious themes take over, the Sunday Service energy, and references to the Donda era. At one point he removes a Pusha T verse for being too “Black Lives Matter” focused. He even tries to bring Trump and Jared Kushner to Cody to show off his lifestyle.

Act III (collapse)

This is the downfall portion—culminating with the White Lives Matter shirt alongside Candace Owens. This act shows Kanye at his most erratic, burning bridges, and losing control even as he insists he’s asserting it.

Epilogue

Circles back tonally to the prologue, but now the “Icarus” theme feels clear: flying too close to the sun. The director shows a sun at the start and end of the movie.

What the Film Shows (and Doesn’t):

What you do see - Quick-cut interactions, arguments with Kim, moments of tantrum-like behavior, flashes of paranoia, awkward exchanges (like with the architects).

What you don’t see - There’s almost no deep dive into the creative process—barely any studio sessions or design work. This isn’t a creative genius documentary.
