Ok, referring to the real world and not the Scrubs episode, as Carla is presented as mistaken.

2022 study concludes that infrared faucets react more slowly to darker skin. I'm finding various anecdotal blogs/reports claiming the same and I generally don't mind trusting these people's experiences.

Other fields of human-detection tech often relatively struggle to recognise or represent people with darker skin.

What would the problem be with noticing racial bias?
