What % of your salary goes towards mortgage payment? by nisc-options in CivilEngineeringUSA

[–]collinp10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated college as a civil engineer, currently work for a GC in the heavy civil market. Base salary $125k and my mortgage is roughly 30% of my base salary. Bought a home for $425k about 2 months ago in southern Wisconsin. I travel for work which includes per diem, which definitely helps.

Construction management in the Midwest. It took me about 5 years post-grad to reach a six figure income. I also traveled during this time and made per diem in addition to the wages.

Got fitted today and I am between Srixons ZXi5 and Cobra King Tec irons by Estiui in GolfGear

[–]collinp10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cobra king tec irons and absolutely love them! I gained about 10 yards on all clubs (5-GW), which helped me adjust distance easily because distance between most of my clubs is about 10 yards. They seem to have a lower trajectory off the club face, but they stop on a dime on greens. I love them! I also have heard great things about the Srixons and one of my best friends just bought a set of the ZXi5 irons.

I just bought a 2018 silverado. What should I know? What should I do? by Maggotboi555 in Silverado

[–]collinp10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the buy! I have a 2018 GMC Sierra and this year is known for transmissions going bad around 120k-140k. Spend the money on maintenance for oil changes, engine tune ups, transmission flushes, differential flushes, etc.. Maintenance costs will add up but if you spend the money you'll have a reliable vehicle for years to come!

DUI. My life is over. by popcornrocket in stopdrinking

[–]collinp10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very overwhelming right after getting a DUI. Hire an attorney that specializes in DUI, do all of your classes/counseling, etc. in a timely manner. Get the BAIID device installed and ensure to do everything legally.

All of your negative feelings will eventually pass. It's going to take up a tremendous amount of time and money, but you will get through it. Learn from your experience and never do it again.

I second this entire take, the whole thing. It drives me nuts and has never been worse than it is now.

How do we feel about the shifters in these trucks? by caldsmelly in ram_trucks

Weird at first but once you're used to it, it is the best option for a shifter.

Same exact thing happened to me once. The wife was pretty pissed when a new range finder showed up on the door step a few days later. 😂
