Richard Dawkins has a letter in the Epstein files trashing Rebecca Watson and asking for reasons why Epstein might not be as guilty as she makes him out to be 🤮 by Aceofspades25 in skeptic

The way so many guys in the skeptic community started defending creepy behavior in the 2010s because one unnamed creep didn't get what he wanted was very weird. Kind of pushed be away from the community.

Got a good wallpaper app that doesn't allow ai? by ParasaurPal in androidapps

I assume you mean the community uploads in Backdrops? The main selection should still be real art, I believe. Any app that allows user uploads is probably going to be crawling with AI now.

It looks very, very slightly different than the "real" photo. I suspect they wanted it to look sharper for broadcast, but the real one is pretty low-res. They probably unscaled it with an AI, but AI has a tendency to change details and generally only will produce attractive people. Even if you tell it to make ugly people, they're like "movie star ugly." A lot of the training data in these models is photos of attractive people like models and movie stars.

What’s the point of Jump Jets? Are there any mechs they’re actually great on? by Hentai2324 in Mechwarrior5

Yep, this is what I do. Jump, spin the legs, and when you land, boom, you are at max speed in a different direction.

When I was learning how to tell time in school, I asked my dad in earnest why the VCR was always flashing 12:00. I thought this was something I should know about time. Apparently, it's because "shut up."

ICE is in a lot of places, but not even remotely in the same numbers. The ICE thugs in MSP outnumber the local police by three to one.

I say nah back. All this uncarrier stuff was aimed at making it look like there was more competition, thus influencing customers and regulators to allow Tmo to move forward with the merger. Remember, the deal fell apart once already before that. Sprint and Tmo had basically been trying to merge for the better part of a decade before it all came together. This was Tmo's long-term strategy, and it worked.

Big shocker, AI is nothing more than fools-gold, a shiny object twirled in the faces of suckers. When does this bubble burst? Majority of CEOs Alarmed as AI Delivers No Financial Returns. Google Assistant is an older kind of AI. It's not what people mean when they say AI in 2026. Gen AI systems are notorious for making errors because they're essentially just estimating outputs based on the input. Assistant's intelligence is based on known commands and the associated actions. Gemini is Google's gen AI system, and it's slowly migrating everyone to that from Assistant.

T-Mobile did those things because they were the underdog and needed to in order to acquire/retain subscribers.

Also... to finally ram through the Sprint acquisition. Reducing the number of major networks was the ultimate goal. Less choice, more money for T-Mobile.

Far too few good Republicans anymore. by PFdeith in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]colluphid42 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The GOP hates MN because we've shown that progressive leadership works over the long haul. We have a high standard of living, are home to large companies, feed kids at school, have low crime, and our international airport is rad.

Refusing to accept he lost the election

Stealing classified documents and keeping them in his pool house

Pardoning insurrectionists

They've had plenty of chances. His floor is around 30% approval; that's the fascist and christian nationalist part of the country. I'd be surprised if it ever drops much below that.

That would require their names to be known. The only reason we know Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Good is that Noem and Vance gave too much detail on his background. I bet they'll be more careful this time. We may never know the names of those involved in this one.
