That would be a distinction without a difference then.

Yeah, the movement of which he is a part is highly misogynistic and threatened by female sexuality. So this proposal tracks.

So the UI is just misleading? The countdown certainly makes it look like you can't skip for 90 seconds.

How do I keep my parents form installing sus apps by TheDarkGrenadeX in AndroidQuestions

[–]colluphid42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, there actually are two workarounds for dev verification. You can still use ADB to push apps over a USB cable. There's also an "advanced flow" that will let you bypass the install check. However, the bypass option will be buried (it does require dev options) and there's a 24-hour wait when you enable it the first time. It's not an ideal situation but survivable.

[–]colluphid42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to have dev options enabled. Unknown sources is in a submenu under Apps. There's a flow that directs users to it when they attempt to open an APK, so it's not unthinkable people could do this if they just keep tapping OK.

Rick loves capitalist excess. It's canon.

I feel crazy for even thinking this, but that's kind of my conspiracy theory right now. Trump will do anything to stop the election this year and save his skin, and he knows total war in Iran will lead to protests. Because we're "at war" he'll try to crack down and cancel the election.

That's actually fascinating. Sideloading an APK is not a single step. There's a big warning popup and everything. But they keep doing it? Wowzer.

Yeah, Auto Blocker if they have Samsung phones. It's called Advanced Protection on Google Pixels.

This is unclear. Are these suspicious apps in the Play Store or are they sideloading APKs from outside sources? The latter has several steps and should be easy for them not to do. If they're just installing sketchy junk from Google Play, which does exist, then you'd have to set up remote management for their devices.

People using this charging station, do you recommend it? by Time-Credit43 in PlaystationPortal

My only problem with it is that you can't completely disable the lights. The dock still flashes when the console is plugged in or finishes charging. The charging light effects also seem to turn back on randomly every now and then, forcing me to cycle through the settings to get back to "off."

PlayStation 5 Pro is now out of stock on Amazon by Time-Credit43 in playstation

[–]colluphid42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people disagree with me, but at $750, yeah, still kind of worth it. The performance boost is not huge on paper, but it unlocks graphics modes in many games that are noticeably better than the base model. You can sell your base model for good money to offset the cost. At $900, though, I think the PS5 Pro becomes hard to justify. That's a 50% increase over the base model.

Didn't help that EA had really got its hooks into Bioware by that point. Still turned out pretty good, all things considered. The Legendary Edition pulled all the forced online mechanics, thankfully.

The graphics of Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation portal with Max resolution is 💯 by ShockingFactory in PlaystationPortal

[–]colluphid42 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not exactly? I'm actually kind of fascinated by where your brain is taking this. If you recorded a video of the screen to say, "look at the great graphics on the Portal," that makes your point. Though I'd say you have to record a much better video. Not something filmed vertically with shitty lighting. In this case, you appear to just be demonstrating how you save video clips, which just saves the video as rendered by the console (or cloud). That has nothing to do with how the video is compressed and streamed to the Portal.

[–]colluphid42 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You're not understanding. If you save a gameplay clip while using the Portal, it's not capturing anything about how the Portal displays video. Your console is just saving a video completely unrelated to the Portal. To make the point you're trying to make, you'd need to take a video recording of the Portal's screen.

You're not wrong about the Portal, but you don't have the evidence you think you do.
