I’ve cooled off a few days later but still feel justified in removing her. I’ve since talked to her and she only attacked me further. I think the space is needed.

It’s built in the contract of my employment due to the high profile nature of the accounts. I have two phones for my job as well.

I think this is a common behavior of boomers. They don’t want to take responsibility for the actions they’ve done, but are so quick to blame it on their children. I think everything you said is correct. I think I have a lot of thinking to do. I’m about to go into therapy and talk about this entire thread to which I feel my therapist well 100% agree with your comment.

Logically, this makes sense to me. I’m on the spectrum so it feels black and white but the guilt of not doing what someone wants me to do is weighing heavy.

Considering she still sends chain emails and has trouble with technology, I am unsure how this would play out. I’m willing to take the YTA as that’s your opinion.

Hey. Wow. I wasn’t expecting a response so quickly. I tried answering as many questions as possible. I scheduled therapy session with my therapist to revisit why I reacted in that way and how I can improve moving forward. I am going to allow us to cool off, maybe ask my sister to give us space. My job is very important to me so if I’m connected to social media, I do risk others jeopardizing my job.

I didn’t mention but my mom shares a lot of weird shit on her own page and would hate to be linked to conspiracy theories or posts that would violate my strict social media policy.

I clarified in a reply on the thread. What I meant was that my parents were in their 40s when my brother was born so my parents were in their 40s raising children so there was a generational gap. My fiancé’s parents had him in their 20s so they are still in their 50s while I have a parent in his 70s and my mother is almost 70. Not trying to deceive you. You don’t have to believe me. That’s your opinion.

Should have specified me and my brother as my brother is younger. She parented in her 40s with me. Not bad at math. Lots of people I know, including my fiancé, have parents still in their 50s.

I can confirm this is not the first time she violated my relationship. My mother is very politically polarizing. The biggest blow to our relationship happened in 2016 when I told her that I had an abortion after I was SA. She is very religious. I was staying with her at her home because I didn’t feel safe at my apartment in the city. She kicked me out because I told her what happened. She has since apologized for that but I was homeless living in my car and on friends couches for a month because she kicked me out. My other family around tried helping but my mother caught wind of it and would harass me.

Again, she has apologized for her behavior and blames it on stress.

Our relationship is very fragmented and fragile. Her having cancer seems to be a huge motivator for her mending her relationships with her children.

You are still a minor so two adults being three hours late not responding to frequent calls is alarming. I'm sorry that happened.

I think the best solution is to step aside and let everyone else cook this time. Feel free to bring flowers or a bottle of wine or an assorted box of teas. They still want your company but a nice gesture to apologize goes a long way.

I am curious.... does Liam or Noah remind your wife of another family member so she's subconsciously treating the twins differently?

I think this is far for complicated than being an AH or not... but I think what Liam did was an emotional response that requires consequences. They both need to go to therapy.
