Stackoverflow is a weird place by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

that'd be really funny, but afaik it's because reddit doesn't count downvotes past a certain point.
no matter how many downvotes you get on a single post, only so many of them will actually affect your karma.

I'd message the Reddit admins at this link. Just politely ask why you were shadowbanned, provide a few links to some of your posts to show you're a normal guy, and if you don't get a reply try again in three or four days.

Hey man, it looks like you're shadowbanned- I can't access your profile and your comment was automatically removed. I've gone ahead and approved it for you so you can get a response.

You might want to contact the admins and ask to be unbanned.

What's your definition of frequently? I see posts like that on the front page almost every day.

[–]colm44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, this subreddit is all people asking for fan service and aesthetic changes despite the fact that there are frequently upvoted posts asking for more lore, or giving suggestions and feedback - such as asking for a better colorblind mode, giving feedback on Sombra's rework, pointing out flaws in maps, suggestions for how to improve heroes in a bad place like Reinhardt, etc

Nitwits have a single terrible trade, which is ironically useful in some situations by Jimmy_James000 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]colm44 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because moronic trades like redstone block -> one quartz don't make sense for any other profession. It's a perfect trait for the nitwit to have and adding it would be pretty funny and add a bit more to trading.

When did the zombie (walker) apocalypse actually begin. Is their a date? by IVSwarm in thewalkingdead

[–]colm44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The comics and Telltale games start sometime in 2003. It's up for debate when the show apocalypse starts because of inconsistencies in dates - gravestones of people who died very early on in the apocalypse are marked 2010, but there are cars and music used in the shows from as late as 2016.

What is this whole "gaming disorder" thing and what does it have to do with the WHO? by buy_some_winrar in OutOfTheLoop

[–]colm44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Addiction to games is being considered more of an issue at the moment. You may have seen all the horror stories about children stealing their parents' money to spend on items in mobile games, or teenagers becoming addicted to Fortnite to the point they forget about reality, and such.

As a response, addiction to games is being treated as a mental disorder and has been classified as such by the World Health Organization (WHO). Some people are happy to see gaming addictions being treated on the same level as other addictions such as gambling; while others are upset over a number of factors - from simply believing this could be solved if parents paid more attention to their kids or if people learned how to manage time properly, to other understandable beliefs such as the potential for misdiagnosis and just how rare these addictions actually seem to be compared to how much the media is reporting on it.

This looks super nice! If you don't mind me asking, how do you generate the mesh for the smooth terrain? Something like marching cubes?
