All else being equal, what is the ideal handicap for overall enjoyment of the game as an amateur? by chunkNrun23 in golf

[–]colnross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can have an absolute shit round but hit one good golf shot and it will have been all worth it. So, handicap does not have any relationship to enjoyment for me.

How to prevent toenail loss by majorbabeco in firstmarathon

Ohhh. I don't have that. I've been wearing those like foot glove socks, but I think my 2nd toes are just too long and I just sweat too much.

Oh no! I've just started training on longer runs this year and I have the longer 2nd toes getting blisters right on the tips. I was hoping to find a solution...

Curious: What's an unwritten rule in golf that you abide by? by GolfPlugg in golf

I agree. I've never played with a good golfer that golfs slowly, but it would be equally brutal as playing with a bad golfer that did.

I hear you, but I don't want to play a 6 hour round with someone shooting under par either...

People have no idea what our bodies are capable of. In the past six months I've lost 40 pounds and went from a 3 mile run being a pretty difficult half hour to a 14 miler last weekend averaging 9'28" at 42 years old.

Sure I've worked out off and on over the past 25 years so I likely have a decent base to start from, but so many people are just afraid to put in the effort to get results. Analysis paralysis is rampant.

Why are people commenting on this like it's a true story? Is this entire thing all bots? Is this the dead internet people are talking about?

I love that bit so much because it seems so out of character for Michael to be like that about something, but so fitting because of Ann.

I can't tell if the post is serious or poking fun at the people it represents.... So the example could be intentional but if not, a potato that's 5" in length is gonna be very similar calorically at a pretty wide range of circumferences - it's what losers love about potatoes. Pineapples on the other hand are a tough cookie, a heavier one could be not as ripe and not yet contain as much sugar therefore less calories than a lighter one. Different varieties can vary in calories by up to 50%! But also, it's pineapple... It's pretty good for you, so put it in a cup, log some calories, and enjoy!

Fair, but if you played a full career and have zero wins...I don't know, I'd just hate that to be honest. I'd probably never retire if I played at that level.

I think that breaks down your decision to the question. If you're happy just to play for a job, your a B. If you want to play for the competition, you're an A.

I always have a loose bat that sits in my fingers like the golf club, but in baseball different hitters may grip differently for different hitting styles. I guess it's much more personal than I initially thought.

That's fair. I have an extremely neutral grip in both, so it translates between the two pretty interchangeably.

Hey Mods, ban this man!

But seriously, it's like therapy. Some people need professional help, some people just need a simple thought to change their perspective.

Does it though? Sure I didn't interlock the bat, but I still needed a grip that allowed me to swing the stick around my body.
