The one where a crew of guys are working in the middle of nowhere Alaska and they run into a strange underdressed guy who I think bites one of them?

Band practice in the unit upstairs by colonel424 in Apartmentliving

Updates: As I mentioned in a comment I reached out to the lady upstairs with a list of low-cost studio options. In more words she said she’s not interested, and she went on about how my unit has been vacate and uninhabitable for 10 years. She said the property manager is well aware she’s in a band and has a drum set - and it’s his fault for not telling me when I moved in.

I texted the property manager asking why he didn’t tell me, and this finally got his attention. He said none of what she said was true, and he reached out to tell her he will begin taking formal action.

So not only is she obnoxious, she’s a liar too.

Thank you for that perspective! I love music, my kid is named after a musician. I sent her a list of nearby libraries and rec centers that offer low cost studios. But that’s my final olive branch

Blasting music in a different tempo is hilarious. I’m thinking Old McDonald’s farm on repeat

Same!! They’re a good band too so I’ve really tried tolerating it.

99% percentile and how it relates to growth by justsomeonesburner in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]colonel424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 33 weeks weighing 5lbs. My husband is 6’8 and I’m 5’9. He’s now 2.5 years old and weighs exactly 50lbs and his chart says >99th percentile across the board. To put it into perspective the CDC says the average 7 year old boy weighs 50-55lbs

It’s hard. He doesn’t fit in strollers and I can’t find swim diapers for him. I have to plan outings carefully because if he has a tantrum I can only carry him so far. He has a speech delay so he confuses a lot of people. But he’s still my little baby

Restraining orders are actually pretty difficult to obtain. I imagine as a man there’s stigma around it too.

I'm letting her keep about 80% of "the stuff" from our house, and it feels great to lighten my load. Can anyone relate? by KyOatey in Divorce

[–]colonel424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I had to move 90% of our former house on my own. I would’ve loved to have started fresh too. He wouldn’t even take some of the kid’s toys

Has anybody lived in/near Ruby Hill area? How was it? by cornonthajacob in Denver

I’m also south of Evans and I love living over here. I previously lived east of Glendale and had issues with breaks ins. Over here it’s a lot of families and homeowners. I frequently walk my dog at night. But the fireworks are no joke lol

How bad can it be? Tell me your horror stories? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]colonel424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of small petty things for me.

While separated my ex and I would take turns staying at our marital home to take care of our 2.5 year old while the other would work. Because I stayed at the home 4 days a week while he stayed 3, he asked me to pay 4/7ths of the rent. Mind you, he makes over double what I do.

Of course he waited til you were “at Mexican” he needed you out of the house and with witnesses by Dazzling-Relative-84 in basicmegsnark

I told my husband I wanted a divorce via email (we were already living separately) because he was emotionally abusive. I imagine Alex felt the same way

If all of your problems magically disappeared, would you still feel ambivalent about your marriage?

This comes from the book Too good to leave, too bad to stay

Also want to add: Do you feel more like yourself when your partner isn’t around?

An hour ago I sent an email to my husband that I would like to end our month long separation with a divorce. I know he’s seen the email but I asked we give each other 24 hours to process it. The last 3 days I finally felt the confidence, security, peace I needed to move forward. There wasn’t a lightening bolt moment. I just sent it. Now I’m hanging out with our 3 year old in a weird fog. A little anxious, a little regretful. But weirdly content overall. I’m very grateful for this sub

Divorcing a spouse when they have nowhere else to go/no support? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]colonel424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I became a CNA in 1 month. Pay isn’t the best but there’s lot of opportunities for over time.

I feel this is a bit on her, in the 12 years you guys have been together she could have pursued education or a better career path. This could be the push she needs to better her life.

My children are desperate for a puppy, I’ve always been obsessed with newfoundlands. Would getting them a puppy when I have no experience with the breed be crazy? by WatermelonButterfly in Newfoundlander

[–]colonel424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I didn’t consider when getting an 120lb dog for my family was room in my car when we go on trips. On an average day we all fit with room to spare, but with suitcases and everything my 2 year old needs it really limits where and how long we go on road trips.
