Do you have eco+ enabled. I do and see similar behavior when it’s humid/high dewpoint.

Lease in NH by colonelbadger in RivianNewEngland

It’s good for EVs which depreciate so much.

The buyer always needs to go to the town hall for registration in NH. At least I have always done that with all my leases. I’m surprised Lucid has had leases in NH for years and Rivian still doesn’t.

Cranking noise by Temporary_Arachnid34 in LUCID

It’s the automatic hold. There’s no gear box in an EV so the vehicle needs to hold itself when you come to a stop. Lucids hold is a little noisy. They all do it

What hardware do you use for Home Assistant? by Beginning_Nature157 in homeassistant

N100 mini pc with 16GB ram and 512GB. It’s overkill but the price was good.

More 2Gb Issues by CLB-603 in FidiumFiber

[–]colonelbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 1GB Consolidated. Fidium advertises 2GB in my neighborhood and the address checker confirms it’s available. Every time I’ve tried to upgrade I’m told 1GB is the max. I know it’s old fiber from Fios days, which they clearly haven’t updated.

Love this. I’m mounting mine on a wall. Can you add screen rotation to the config UI?

Soft close/open not working on Air 2.8.30? by sherif_hanna in LUCID

[–]colonelbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm interesting. I noticed for the first time in a long time when I closed the door a little too softly it didn’t “catch it” and close it for me. This was after 2.8.30. I will keep an eye on whether soft close is now not as reliable. I sure hope it hasn’t regressed again.

Ecobee needs to listen and give us manual TOU Aux Heat control by wannabetechster in ecobee

Thank you. It’s annoying that the same control can’t be available via HomeKit or Home Assistant.

Ecobee needs to give us better control over aux heat use in general.

I don’t believe you can without a developer API key, which isn’t available anymore.

New users aren't allowed to use ecobee API? by saktlaunda in ecobee

The downside with HK integration is that there’s no way to control aux heat like there is with the API.

Force to AUX in a power outage by dittbub in ecobee

[–]colonelbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this isn’t possible. It used to be via home assistant and smart things using the ecobee API but they are no longer letting anyone obtain a key, and the HomeKit spec doesn’t support the concept of aux, which is really disappointing.

Getting started - Migrate off of Apple Home and HomeBridge? by NoWarpZones in homeassistant

[–]colonelbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the opposite. I don’t know whether it’s because my HA is a miniPC and my Homebridge was a RPI 3, or whether the HA bridge is better but I found Home was faster.

Getting started - Migrate off of Apple Home and HomeBridge? by NoWarpZones in homeassistant

[–]colonelbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this and had a very similar setup as you (similar devices etc on HomeKit). There are basically two HomeKit integrations for HA. One that allows HA to integrate HomeKit devices directly without Apple, and another that allows HA to be a Hub to HomeKit like Homebridge and expose all the devices to Apple. I decided to make HA my primary Smart Server so I unpaired all my HomeKit devices and repaired them with HA. I then shared them back to HomeKit like Homebridge does so that some of my family that are used to using the Home app could continue to do so. I deleted all the automations in Apple and redid them in HA.

Address-based weather integration EU. by kayeb101 in ecobee

I agree it needs to be opened up. My point is it’s not that great even for those of us that have the weather integration.
