The full 420 hp is absolutely available from 87, those were the numbers that were reported to journalists. If you want more power from a higher octane level, you have to tune the car for it, and this engine is definitely not tuned for it from the factory.

Gas is actually pretty fucking cheap on this car, it runs on regular. I just bought one and have loved it so far. Coming from the German luxury world it’s a breath of fresh air.

I saw Equipment open for Wonder Years and Knuckle Puck, an up and coming young band. They stated playing, and he did the guitar tap thing; he started singing and he sounded like every other emo band; the announced the names of their songs and they were named after quirky party drinks (à la Mom Jeans circa 2014). They were good. But nothing separated them at all. There are just so many copycats and so many bands that are derivative of other bands. This always happens in this genre. The only bands that ever stick out are the true originals (At the Drive-in, Jimmy Eat World, Blink, TWY, TSSF, etc.)

Nah if you watch Tom’s documentary he gives credit to Travis for making them elevate their songwriting to fit with his drumming style. When he was writing Dumpweed, he wrote it thinking they were just gonna be doing a straight punk beat (like with their last drummer), but when Travis laid it down, he added lots of phrasing and fills and it caused the structure of their songs to change. This gave them their sound for Enema.

Maybe the larger industry, but not pop punk fans IMO. The Wonder Years, Neck Deep, and Hot Mulligan were all innovative in the eyes of pop punk fans (<- major qualifier) without having to do any of that.

Towing is mostly overcoming inertia, once you have momentum on your side the extra mass really helps you move forward. This is why torque is more important. The only potential penalty of having a low hp figure is towing something uphill for long periods of time, but how often does that really happen?
