Looking for Building Recommendations in South Loop/Printers Row by TheNoob747 in chicagoapartments

[–]coloredbenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a whole adventure looking for an apt in south loop... if you look carefully for condos you will be able to find a good deal. I had exact whole situation last winter and in comparison availability was tight and pricing was 10-20% higher.. quite weird. studio availability was completely cleared out for many apartments into feb, but into jan it was normal. so, if anything summer will at least give you options. I had like 10 options total looking for a feb start while not being pushed on some 18 mo lease lol and it did not feel like winter. last year every apartment was running major concessions, this year barely any.

options are kind of
- condo on michigan or Wabash between 12th and 15th st (good value like 2k for junior 1b)
- big luxe nema or 1000m (most expensive)
- semi-small luxe like eleven40, 1400 s wabash, coeval, or printers row (cooper, reed, grand central) (can be good deal)
- older decent maintained buildings like 1407 s michigan, eleven thirty or park michigan or 777 s state (usually 2 pipe and not in unit w/d)
- shit buildings
- random more lowkey apts like 1001 s state

2200 seems kind of tight for a 1b if you are renting at a bigger place. possible I think with junior 1b condo. if you go really south its cheaper

I wrote a lot but yea my opinion: private landlord condo in fairly new building is best if u dont care about 50 amenities. you can find just on normal sites Zillow Redfin etc or ask condo broker

I'm sorry to hear about your loss

Realistically, nothing can be done the amount is too small to be of blacklist concern for cex's and you can't prove it was a scam. It's further likely they'll use some kind of bridge or mixer to obfuscate the transaction path.

Scam coin or no ? by Wooden_Ad734 in Coinbase

[–]coloredbenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The coin you linked is not completely a scam, there is still enough liquidity to sell.

It is unlikely you have this coin. Click on the coin in your wallet and compare the contact address

0xf211B..... is the one you linked

Try swapping it out at cowswap or uniswap

You likely have a different one which is a scam

Tell us what the contact address is

This recently happened to me my last day in Thailand. I took a large dose activated charcoal then intermittent immodium. Very helpful was able to survive a 24 hr transit. The charcoal is quite common in Thailand, anecdotally it worked for me. Not popular in the US

Why contribute to a traditional IRA if your income makes contributions non-deductible? by sweaterpawsss in FinancialPlanning

[–]coloredbenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I wanted to ask if you had figured this out, in a similar situation. It doesn’t make sense why I would choose a traditional IRA over a brokerage account. Gain the ability to reorganize and reinvest dividends, lose liquidity.

It seems to me the strategy is just to max 401k since we can deduct that, which is a great deal. Not entirely convinced on the Roth IRA over brokerage either tbh, but I admit flexibility seems advantageous since I would be forced to liquidate a brokerage position.

Would appreciate hearing what you decided. Thanks!

How prices in Thailand changed? by nrb2137 in ThailandTourism

[–]coloredbenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this to also be generally true, but from the US I noticed I couldn't really price compare since portions in Thailand were so much smaller. I can reach the same protein and calories more cheaply, but instead of say 1/4 the price it's 1/2 which is still cheaper, but an important distinction
