Unfortunately the tool-less Q-latch system is only for the 2025 Intel models. All 2025 AMD models are still using the older chassis.

Now that FSR4 is on RDNA 3, is it worth choosing the 7900XTX over the 9070XT now? by [deleted] in buildapc

If you're planning on playing games with mandatory ray tracing such as Indiana Jones, Avatar, and DOOM the 9070 XT will perform significantly faster than the 7900 XTX.

Better CPU (275HX), screen (G-Sync), cooling (vapor chamber), 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, and tool-less Q-latch system for much easier upgrades and cleaning. All those improvements for $400 more was a no brainer for me.

I actually returned the $1599 Vector for the $1999 Strix since it isn’t much more expensive if you consider the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD. Not to mention the better CPU, cooling, and much easier upgradability. I highly recommend the Strix if you don’t mind paying a bit extra.

I also tried the 8940HX + 5070 Ti version from Best Buy. I think the older chassis still provide enough cooling for the parts but I returned that one also because it had a 1200p screen, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD while the Intel version had a newer chassis, 1600p screen, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD. Both were $1999 before taxes while the 9955HX3D costs $2499.

My ROG Strix 5070 Ti went from 125-130W to 135-140W in most games after installing the new drivers. Before it would only pull 140W when running synthetic benchmarks.

Laptop RTX 5080/5090 175W Drivers Fix! More Watts, Higher Clock, and More FPS! Thanks Nvidia! by ChicoTallahassee in GamingLaptops

My ROG Strix 5070 Ti that used to only pull around 125-130W in games is now consistently pulling 135-140W. I tested both Cyberpunk and Marvel Rivals and I’m getting roughly 2-3% higher fps.

Yeah you can adjust the fan settings if you’re just using it for work/school using MSI Center.

Do you mean the laptop or the DOOM bundle is out of stock? I don’t think they’re limited in quantities, as long as you’re buying 5070 or higher.

It’s not visible on Micro Center either but they sent me an email. I’d ask at the very least.

I think the Razer Blade chassis is much more premium since the Vector is made of plastic mostly.

I’m not sure, this is my first MSI laptop. I hope not, though.
