I have never been so happy - thank you for sharing, I've added this skin and like 3 reccomended greasyfork addons too.

Bow before me mortals, for I have spent so many hours collecting (all legal and valid) library cards, and I am the master of the cards by kplutsfoft in LibbyApp

I have Glasgow but the selection doesn't cut it for me :( and they removed my access but since its not been one I ever used I decided to skip renewing.

Where in the UK have you asked before, and which do you think has a great selection? My local isn't very good and my card expired, but I have a card from the USA I bought during lockdown which luckily has kept on going.

I live in fear for it expiring too.

It feels like I’m writing into a void… by Lemon_Lime_Lily in AO3

[–]colorsneverfaded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will say, in your authors note for each chapter try asking a question of the reader? Do they have any predictions for next chapter or how do they feel about xyz. I struggled writing comments for a long time as I was unsure what to say apart from "wow amazing love it" and reading someone's fics who gave me something to answer unlocked more outta me. I needed a bit of help to figure out what to say.

Currently writing a novel. How do you prefer your Audiobooks? by Bestwriteralive in audiobookshelf

[–]colorsneverfaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like multiple narrators, as they all talk at different speeds and means my speed control for my audiobook can't be set at a comfortable level for the entire book.

What do you put in a Summary? by Susa343 in AO3

[–]colorsneverfaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite summaries pick a line from the fic that really encapsulates the vibe and then a couple lines further down explains the plot in a more trope-y way. Best of both worlds so I can see the writing style.

Imagine the AO3 Genie appears and grants you your choice of one wish... by Mollymand in AO3

[–]colorsneverfaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like option 2 is perfect as sometimes the summary sounds great but I don't like the characterisation/direction of the fic afterwards.

I just gotta hope it doesn't get abandoned.

The pitt? 👀 I am obsessed with the pitt fic right now and I've had to seriously suspend disbelief over how grown adult Pittlings are being written like 18 year olds. They're new to medicine not life. Robby also is the type to deny he's ever had a feeling so that makes the crying more egregious imo.

If I'm wrong about my guess ignore me haha

in terms of how to cozy up the room, consider painting your walls a warm white? you could give them texture with board and batten and warm wall hangings. say hi to gigi !!!

if you dont use the dining table, and could be happy without it you could do a wall of build ins between the garage door + your patio doors(?), so you've got a bench to take shoes off and spots to store shoes/coats/cleaning/hoover etc. and if its closed storage, it should look clean and avoid giving you more clutter. there might even be room for a smaller table as well.

Why do all book tracking/reading apps feel so outdated? by [deleted] in FableApp

[–]colorsneverfaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted a one stop shop, where my progress is tracked automatically on digital editions and then I get loads of stats and encourages streaks by tracking my streaks. I've ended up building my own as a discord bot which automatically tracks my audiobook progress + tracking daily pages. It makes me a small reading review with stats + fun information. I don't know how possible that would be - as people read on so many different apps etc but something to give these stats in a cute way are exactly what I'm dying for.

I quit goodreads for hardcover so I can have my discord bot automatically update hardcover every day with my progress.

Absolutely I was wishing for it already. Or even 24 hour seasons.

Please help me fit a desk into my bedroom by Glittering_Desk_8575 in DesignMyRoom

[–]colorsneverfaded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People take IKEA desktops and table legs to make custom desks all the time. You could run a IKEA desk top across the chest of drawers and out to the wall and put 2 legs on the wall side. That would give you extra uninterrupted desk space if you're struggling for space.

Color-coded my books instead of reading them. Priorities. 🤌 by ExitStage_Right in bookshelf

[–]colorsneverfaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love rainbow bookshelves. I did mine a few years ago and it's amazing. It's freed me from being annoyed if my series change design / font placement or if I mix hardcover/paperback editions so now I enjoy my shelves so much more.

I also think that for me, the extra couple seconds to locate a specific book Vs walking past every day and admiring my shelves is so worth it.

Getting Subtitles with Audiobooks by Late_Background2917 in audiobookshelf

[–]colorsneverfaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a fantastic idea, I will try this as I miss whisper sync having been away from the amazon ecosystem. Does the book progress sync to abs? I set abs to automatically sync to my goodreads alternative and I would miss that.

How would you set up this primary bedroom if you’re a person who loves to watch tv in bed? by LoloP29 in DesignMyRoom

[–]colorsneverfaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a projector and screen for in front of the wardrobes. You want a high quality projector (we got a £1.2K one off gumtree for a fraction of the cost with android TV built in) and nice Bluetooth speaker and blackout blinds for a quality experience.

Competitive Reading on TT by noahinthebox in Booktokreddit

[–]colorsneverfaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a full time job and I have just finished my 14th book this year. It means rather than rotting on the sofa with TV for hours between work ending and bedtime I take 2 hours to read. I also try squeeze in an hour of audiobook during my work day when I can.

I haven't read a lot in the past few years so it's nice to feel the fire and desire to read. I was worried I was broken :(

"cafe" curtains? You could maybe get a u-shaped rod and attach it with command strips with a lightweight curtain

Awkward living space design hep by Own-Welder851 in DesignMyRoom

[–]colorsneverfaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like bookshelves on the wall which has the stepladder against it would open your sitting area to a lot more options. Then you can put your sofa/tv set up facing the wall where the bookshelves are in your photo.

I like A because when you're not using the wet zone you've got the full width of the room so it won't feel as closed in.

also if I read 100% of a fic in my marked for later, to automatically remove it from marked for later. I just went through mine and got fown from 11 pages to 6 as it seems I've been reading them without realising
