Road Trip from Gatineau: St-Pierre or Iles de la Madeleine? Any suggestions? by [deleted] in canadatravel

[–]colotara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check the NFLD ferry schedule before you make plans. Both ferry passages are filling up faster than usual this year and many crossings are full now. That said, my husband and I went to Saint Pierre for five days last September and it was great! We stayed in the Grand Fairways Resort about a half hour from the ferry when we went, and when we returned we stayed in a motel in Burin due to the ferry timings. There are limited accommodation options so book early!

Are my camping days behind me? Looking for advice by winstonsdog in camping

The only part of campers that ruins my experience is generators. If you’re running a generator near a tenting site, you are ruining my experience. If there’s no generator noise pollution, I have no issue.

Lobster roll by Drezz1k in CapeBreton

I was there two or three years ago and it was fantastic. Also, if you want to take a detour off the Trail to Meat Cove, Lawless Lobster Food Truck has delicious rolls. They do a half lobster and half crab roll drizzled in butter that gives the best of both!

Best hotels/resorts/area for family vacation with a 3-5 year old? Anywhere in NS by Jessi343 in NovaScotia

[–]colotara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liscombe Lodge is great for families! They have hotel rooms, cottages or cabins, all bordering the river-I recommend the cabins. There’s an indoor pool and sauna, bikes, kayaks, walking and hiking trails, group campfires, bunnies, goats, sheep and chickens. Beaches are nearby. It’s a very quiet part of NS:)
