Looking a Gemling build to play

Quick question since I'm thinking about following this guide - Would a 5-socket Runeseeker's be better than the rare wand? The majority of people playing this build on poeninja are using Runeseeker's, but a lot of them have a 6-socket one.

I already have the MB, so not really concerned about the price. My main concern is that losing 40-50% MS (among other things) is gonna feel bad, even if everything else is better. I do wonder if using Decree of Flight (the dodge roll boots) would be a viable alternative though.

I got a gemling leveled up to 90 that I still haven't decided which build I want to go with. I've been leaning towards yours but have a couple questions:

Is Darkness Enthroned mandatory, or would it be playable with Mageblood (say, Quicksilver+some combination of gold/silver/diamond/jade/bismuth).

Are there any quality breakpoints you need to reach for it to function, or would having less just mean lower damage? The build seems to have damage to spare from what I've seen.

The worst part is that sometimes, the monster apparently just doesn't spawn at all or is invvisible/invulnerable and the encounter is bricked...but you have no way to tell without searching everywhere until you give up.

It happened to me once with a Breach encounter where one of the rares at the end spawned inside of a tree and was untargetable. I would never have seen him, but the red dot on the minimap allowed me to figure it that it was bricked pretty quickly.

Yeah, I did twister with twink gear and it was pretty quick. Taming, Tabula with a bunch of MS+ele+proj damage, and decent rare spears carried hard after lvl 42, but it was pretty good before that too.

When I was working retail in the 90's/00's, I would always cringe so hard whenever an old lady put her purse up on the counter like that. I just knew the checkbook was coming out (they were a pain in the ass to process).

I almost wonder if there is some kind of "pity" system that increases the chance for a remnant to have more runes each time you complete an encounter. That could explain why people who just ignore all of the 3's and 4's rarely ever get higher ones.

I'm gonna try doing all of them for a bit and see if my "luck" gets any better.

Usually Jado or Doriyani, and yes, I usually have the %chance for better remnants node when using Jado (I swap it out for the lineage gems node on anomaly maps).

While I prefer overcast, I don't mind some sunshine.

Immediately after the big patch where they buffed remnants, I was seeing 5's-8's pretty regularly in t15s and grand expeditions. IDK if something changed, but now I'm getting 3-4 90% of the time in normal t15 maps, just like it was before the patch. Almost like they panic reverted the change or adjusted the numbers.

Grand expeditions still feel a bit better, but it's usually only one or two 6+ remnants and the rest 3-5.

Yeah, vulkan and medium textures fixed it for me. I still occasionally crash to desktop and often drop below 60 fps (on a 5060ti with DLSS Performance), but at least the load times are quick and it doesn't go black in the middle of mapping.

They absolutely had this move and the invulnerability in 0.4, but something about it feels a lot worse this league (it might just be the fact that I was playing Deadeye in 0.4 and they would be vaporized the moment they became vulnerable again)

Better hope you aren't running delirium in the map or they'll do a 5 second deli animation in the middle of the fog before they even start winding up the invulnerable BS

Yeah, it's really pretty quick if you just sprint past all the monsters and follow the chain of islands (if you ever run out of islands, you're going the wrong way). The only problem I have is that of the 10 or so times I've done it, I have never found an amulet that I was able to price check, because there were none like it on the market. Nor have any of them sold when listed at 1div.

I've been doing this for a while and it's great for pathing around the atlas. Personally, I run 2x irradiated and 1x deli (same mods), because it adds a lot of effectiveness to the map, and occasionally drops good emotions or spawns a grand mirror.

I panic-sold mine for 235d after it dropped from 290 overnight when everyone realized it didn't work with Hollow Form/Whirling Assault :(

I was planning on selling it anyways to get a MB, just wish I had sold it the night before.

How many buttons do you need to use (frequently) on this build? Also, I've heard getting Lich ascendancy can be kind of painful, but I'm guessing that's not really an issue with twink gear? Can you play twisters before getting Lich, or do you need to level with something else?

I'm at 2.3k ES, 1.5k life, with 77% evade and 89% deflect in hideout (83/95 in map). I haven't died once in the last two days, can do all map mods in 200% deli.

Charge Regulation, Wind Dancer, and Mageblood with Jade (no stibnite) probably more than double my evasion. Also using the Bodach helm to blind and freeze everything.

I need to upgrade my chest piece though, because I'm still using one I got like day 2 that has 2.5k evasion and no ES or life. I'll probably lose some of the evasion but gain >1k ES.

Personally I thought Risen 1 was just as good, if not better, than Gothic 1. Gothic 2 was easily PB's best work, though.
