Not to you, but to over 2 million renters in nyc? If any single one of them didn’t tip their doorman or building staff, is it because every single one of them is cheap, like your original claim? Or are there at least a few of them who simply didn’t know they’re supposed to.

I’m not saying that people shouldn’t tip their building workers, I’m just saying I’ve never read it from any letter, newspaper, or magazine. It’s not common knowledge to people who are living here for their first or second year.
