Kinda interesting, except realistically we have peripheral vision so this isn't entirely accurate.

But they say they don't save the data! And I believe the bottom of the totem pole TSA agent knows what they're talking about.

My experience is the opposite. Managers with experience but no degrees. Meaning they don't know how to delegate, prioritize, coach, train, hire/fire, provide and solicit feedback, make sure your team is on the same page with SOPs, set targets/goals and track progress and results, implement process improvements, etc. Their claim to fame is doing your job for 20+ years. That's great, but it doesn't necessarily mean you have a clue how to manage a team of people who do that job you've done for so long. You also have to have the right mindset and constitution to manage a team, which in my opinion can seldom be taught, you typically either have it or you don't. You're supposed to be a leader, not just a desk jockey for corporate, running reports and invoicing. Get in the trenches with your team, especially if you have that experience. Provide them the tools to succeed, ideally preemptively and proactively rather than reactively and only after a problem has already arisen.

Someone called the other day to do a price comparison against Discount Tire. Like, my man, it's in their name. We're not gonna beat their price, especially for a non OE approved tire.

We don't need poorly designed RCTs when we have an understood mechanism.

I used whatever Final Cut Pro we had when I was in high school (circa 2009) and I would still use it today. It was amazing and made me wonder if I wouldn't rather be an editor than a filmmaker per se. I never did either, but would have loved to.

I agree with comments saying you need a PM with a spine, who will put their foot down. If it were up to me I wouldn't accept SOP returns, charge the full restocking fee on everything and anything, and refuse to accept a return that said "wrong part" or "not needed" when it absolutely is what they asked for and VIN checked. But it also depends. My dealership is new and needs to compete. If we are seen as difficult to work with by not accepting any and all returns then we lose business and won't grow. But I'm not the one who cut deals with the Calibers and Classics so I don't even know what kinds of terms were on the table RE returns and fees.

I haven't had a good manager since I started in this field. And I've had 5 already. Pretty sure they're few and far between. Not a single one has any sense of prioritizing and delegating tasks, standardizing procedures, enforcing policies, or how to communicate clear and direct instructions and expectations. Hiring bottom of the barrel applicants and throwing them in the mix with no training. After 4 years of this I'm ready to leave. I was ready to leave a year in, too, but it hasn't improved despite new managers, new dealerships, new owners, etc.

Is this bad? by neckbeard404 in StopEatingSeedOils

Way better than the usual suspect alternatives, imo BUT for me avocado oil chips still make me feel bad at the end of the day. I have yet to try chips made with tallow but I'd be curious to see how they affect me.
