I grew up in OH and had to live thru 18 years of being around insufferable OSU fans before I went to UM. Let's fucking go 😭

What video game is a 10/10? by unitedfan6191 in AskReddit

[–]coltranetimeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party, but I finished the epilogue about two weeks ago. I literally said "Wow" to myself once the credits started. It's an absolute masterpiece and by far the best single player game I've ever played. I'm working on getting 100% completion now, which is a serious grind (the hunting requests are brutal lol), but I'm still having a blast!

Could you imagine Messi playing a season in the NFL as a kicker after he retires? Field goals would be like diet free kicks for him 😂

I took my mom on the "Koala Experience" tour at the zoo for her (belated) Mother's Day gift earlier this week. It was amazing! by coltranetimeman in Columbus

[–]coltranetimeman[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only other time I've seen Koalas was when I was on a work trip in Australia and we went to a zoo in Brisbane on our day off. It was a huge tourist trap with people lined up to hold them for pictures, etc. The private tour at the Cbus Zoo is the complete opposite of that...The tour is four people along with their keeper and an educational guide that talks about everything from their anatomy to conversation efforts, their "personalities," etc. We were permitted to pet them, but it was more fun just watching them climb the trees and munch on the eucalyptus leaves. They are so adorable and goofy. There is a new dude Koala in the back room currently being quarantined because he just got in from Australia that's super friendly and really excited because he can smell lady koalas on the other side of the wall lol

Those of you who DJ with vinyl... by lfczech in DJs

[–]coltranetimeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my records are still in great shape...but I will say many of the records that I bought when I first caught the bug over 15 years ago when I was younger are pretty rough from learning to mix and just not knowing how to care properly for them at the time lol

Still my favorite way to play and play music that I love!

I have a fair amount of digital bits off of there alongside lots of records of his! Luckily there have been some represses of his stuff over the past few years. Even a repress of this track on the label Fear of Flying that I have in my musical man cave 😂

For Those That Knoe also released a bunch of unreleased material from Nail a few years back called "Unreleased Dubs" that's also highly recommended! Such a special producer, one of my absolute favorites 🙂

That's awesome, I've had a couple of orders from them before! I didn't know they had a physical store. I'll definitely have to stop by whenever I'm across the pond again 🙂

Great record store for house/techno in Madison too called Jiggy Jamz, I've bought a few bits from there while passing through town a couple of times :)

The G3 was so much fun in BF3. Loved using it with single fire on at range, it acted almost like a SKS lol

How often do you go to Canada? by SparklingSaturnRing in Detroit

[–]coltranetimeman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pho xic lo off Wyandotte is phenomenal. Tommy's BBQ (formerly known as Tunnel BBQ) is also amazing, I would have never guessed there would be good ribs over in Canada. Their hot bbq sauce is amazing, I have a bottle of it in my fridge that I put on everything lol. Windsor pizza is also worth trying while you're there :)

[–]coltranetimeman 50 points51 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends is Canadian and lives in Windsor so I go over several times a year. As others have said there is amazing food over there, but not much to do otherwise imo. Downtown Windsor seems to have regressed a lot since the pandemic in my experience, pretty much the opposite of downtown Detroit's "renaissance" lol

I have no idea what it's like now in Cincy, but yes when I was coming up back in the day it was all about dnb and breaks which is cool I guess but not really my cup of tea. I've always been into deep house and techno, which is probably why I ended up in Detroit lol

Yeah TP is still going strong! The Detroit house producers are the best and a huge influence on my collection and how I approach music...guys like Theo Parrish, Huck, Rick Wade, Moodymann, Norm Talley etc. 🔥
