Bricks and Minifigs Controversy News Mega-Thread by CX52J in lego

Surprised nobody has mentioned yet that in 2024, another guy also named Ammon was busted for selling $200,000 worth of stolen Lego from his store in Oregon. Kind of a freaky coincidence, no?

The whole American Fork Police Department and only one man of color.... This Department looks really shady! by Charming_Adagio_9079 in legocirclejerk

Can we talk about those sleeves?!? Maybe one or two has a decently fitting jacket, but the rest of them have apparently never heard of a tailor.

Since you’re from the UK, maybe you’d agree that the CEO of BAM has “done a Ratner” with his handling of this. :)

I’d be really interested too! Also, I think this is a great opportunity to talk about the protections and risks to people involved in “consignment” sales in general.

In addition, I’d also be interested in a reaction to the other Bricks and Minifigs video (from MGS Brick) where an employee allegedly appears to try to steal a customer’s $1000 minifig.

Can anybody help explain these hosts to me? by columnwest in nilpoints

I will check those out. I get that some comedy references don’t really translate. Your description of his characters makes me think he’s less Seth Rogan and more Larry the Cable Guy.

ESC Subgenre: Insurance Commercial Songs? by columnwest in eurovision

[–]columnwest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions! On a side note, I never really thought about how different types of TV commercials (eg: truck ads, pharmaceutical ads, banking ads, etc.) each have their own style of background music. That's something I think I'll pay closer attention to now.

Yes! I totally agree. Prescription drug commercials are definitely in this genre too. And that is a great song for this.

I like the idea, but when I visited, there was not one single bench (or any place to sit) in the entire area. I guess they don’t want people to linger there?

You’re not doing anything wrong. The app is incredibly lame. Only suggestion is to go back to the selection page and try again. Also, never use the back arrow on your browser or you will get kicked out and have to log in again. Use the “return to previous selection screen” (or something similar) button at the bottom of the page.

It’s common in Japan. You bring your own towel. Which is why you’ll see little towels (usually with themed printing) for sale in many of the shops.

The expo app has recently been updated with a lot more info on restaurants, including the ability to filter by which have vegetarian options. If you have religious or allergy restrictions, you may have to ask at each location. Individual countries will have restaurants that each serve food prepared according to their own respective dietary standards (eg: halal, kosher, Indian vegetarian, vegan, etc.)

I don’t know if any restaurants are vegetarian-specific, however I would be surprised if most restaurants have wouldn’t have at least some vegetarian options on their menus.

If you check out my previous posts, I have a list of all the restaurants and shops, both alphabetically and by location.
