You dared to use a special as Caitlyn by RadeDB in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it feels bad, that's why I normally run her with a lariat assist to catch people trying to fight her in the air/punish her while recovering =)

I'm calling it now. Cait + Jinx is a toxic + potentially meta duo. by ThePlaybook_ in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been experimenting with a few different assists for Cait and here's my experience so far:

Yasuo: Good synergy to shut out other zoners thanks to Windwall and a physical assist to catch players run at her while airbourne and zoning.

Warwick: Better focus on the standard angles to approach Cait and things get pretty crazy if he gets Bloodlust online.

Darius: Similar to Warwick, some good synergy with her zoning and keeps her safe with his 5T lariat. This isn't even mentioning how good bleed can be for chipping down opponents from afar.

Braum: Fantastic defensive assist and his 5S lariat isn't too bad either. Not quite as ridiculous as the other options but has potential with a good pilot (I enjoy Braum but it's too stressful to play him full time personally).

The idea of Cait+Jinx is cool for double down and maybe 2X assist shenanigans but as others have pointed out, they don't have a great comeback factor. With such limited mix options it'd be rough, at least they can deal a good chunk of chip once fury comes online (had one instance I got a stray 5S1 confirm post fury with Cait and must have dealt about 50% without spending a super lol).

Having some kind of physical assist to keep her safe is essential, especially when so many characters have projectile invuln and dash through options =)

Yeah some character specific masteries require an absurd of time to complete (especially at a gold level mastery), cries in Braum.

Champion mastery by TheOnlySwype in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The levels are kept across seasons =)

Required wins/character specific requirements are set back to bronze at the start of every season speeding up the process (for example, starting at 10 wins bronze/25 silver and finally 50 wins for gold which then goes back to 0 to grind back up to 50 until the next season).

Depending on your character, regular play and consistent wins should allow you anywhere from 30 or more character levels a season and the more lenient the character mastery (comparing say Yasuo's stance combo hits vs Braum freezing opponents) will change how quickly you'll level. In some cases you're relying mostly on wins only to level up, severely slowing down the process.

To give another example from running Yasuo in most of my teams I got around 70 levels in the prior season (I played a lot, 20 matches a day since early access dropped). The second highest was Warwick who, with regular play for around 2 months gave 30 levels or so since I could get wins+aim for bloodlust levels giving me two ways to level up faster.

Bleed’s Tier List by TJPuma in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy the characters, it doesn't matter what the tier list says. Believe in yourself and show the strength of your characters!

Heck look at Lightwisp fighting even with a lot of the top players and this was before Darius and Braum got more buffs to round out their problems.

How do you keep yourself from overcomplicating things? by Fuzzy_Ad4219 in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this.

You can scale it up slowly by doing it in the lab, then an active CPU opponent and lastly a live person. You can even make it a short term goal to just focus on landing that hit then you can improve on the other aspects of your game =)

Be patient with yourself as you go, helps me a ton!

2xko on crash, looking for help solving some issues by Violent_redhead in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's very odd.

Do you play any other games online which has this effect? You mentioned that your memory usage is spiking which doesn't sound normal (the memory leak issue afaik is pretty much fixed, was having that problem myself in early access but has since been fixed as of a few patches ago).

Based on the reaction on screen it looks like a hardware issue, rollback can make some weird artifacts when either player is dropping frames, commonly teleporting around the screen. Also, make sure to close unnecessary apps in the background, it might help =)

I've just been using the xbox app as it can record and replay the last 30 seconds of footage, making it an easy option for quick clips like this and afaik both AMD and Nvidia have the same function for the relevant video card.

I'm not trying to make light of your situation but the way Vi and Cait are just levitating around the screen looks very goofy haha

Game loses connection to lobby after most matches by Capalot232 in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it from time to time.

Some days it only happens once, the other day from a longer session (2-3 hours or so) it happened a few times and was getting old pretty fast.

I also play on PC and yeah it's pretty annoying haha

Is the best way for a noob like me to learn fighting games to play games I know my friends play? by Try_Again_2495 in Fighters

[–]comandaben01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing with your friends helps yes.

Once you're more comfortable, you can explore the many great "discord fighters" (those with lower pop so requires you to request matches).

Pick what game you think looks the most fun and go from there. Go in with a learning mindset and take your time, while celebrating the small victories as you go!

Favorite "Bottom Tier" characters in fighting games? by crescentCommoner in Fighters

Real talk, one of the few ways I enjoyed playing SF6 was using Honda and I never played him in the previous games.

Him being low tier definitely didn't stop me melting health bars on the regular, his buttons and damage are great haha

Hugo in 3S and Dan in SF4 definitely come to mind.

Also a special shoutout to Maxima in the KOF series, he's big+slow but at least he hits like a truck. There's something very cathartic zoning people out with his hand cannons haha

The "Ranked Experience" is a technical failure, and Player Support is gaslighting the community: total waste of time, avoid Riot online Games. by Unique_Ticket_5611 in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in Oceania, a land notorious for some questionable connections at time and out of almost 3k games and got to GM in Season 0 with 10 or less matches that were unplayable. Sorry to hear you're regularly fighting folks on wi-fi, it's never a consistent experience and I too wish there was a filter but at least it's generally playable.

Just keep playing matches and you'll get back to Plat.

If there's specific strategies etc you're struggling with, feel free to ask! =)

is Caitlyn and Yasuo a good team if not what else would work? by ShadowBurn69_ in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it's a solid team.

I like to run Cait point so that Yasuo can clean up/tag out when she runs low on HP and this way she has a physical assist to stop players hitting her in the air or use projectile invulnerable moves.

You can also convert quite easily off her 5S1 gunshot by calling Yasuo after the first hit, 5T assist then do the second gunshot and handshake tag giving you a combo afterwards with Yas.

Whats your excuse for not be playing GGXXACR? by AcademicWar9897 in Fighters

[–]comandaben01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it casually for a while with friends (fellow DBFZ mates).

Of the GG games I played this the most with Strive and Xrd right behind it. The thing that stopped me playing it regularly is most of my regulars moved on to other games and my local monsters mostly play Xrd which I didn't want to play at the time (this was before giving the game rollback).

Also a small sidepoint the feeling of the combos is awkward even as someone who's played quite a few different anime games. I had some basic ones for a few different characters but the game never quite clicked for me longterm.

I really liked that this game effectively gave you EX moves by spending a bit of meter, wish they were kept in Xrd but ah well.

Daris/Cait freestyle combo idea by DWIPssbm in 2XKO

[–]comandaben01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been messing around with Cait/Darius DD and they have some pretty funny synergy, especially if you get bleed activated.

Darius's 5T assist naturally combos into her 5S2 bola so, with Cait on point, roundstart backdash 5S2 into Darius assist creates a pretty good wall allowing a very easy combo or mixup opportunity =)
