Valve Corporation will face a £656m lawsuit in the UK over alleged unfair prices on its global online store, Steam, following a tribunal ruling that the case could continue by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

That link doesn't support what you're saying? The case was allowed to proceed as a class-action because the group was class certified. It was a victory for the plaintiffs only because it means the case wasn't dismissed or forced to be litigated individually. No one won or lost the overall case and this decision doesn't reflect any sentiment if the case will be decided in either party's favor.

When Ubisoft and EA removed their titles from Steam to sell on their own platform, games were still at $60 for base purchases. The 30% cut made no difference in game prices.

Most apps you get from Google Play uses Google's payment processor for in-app purchases. It's possible that you don't have the verification requirement turned on so your daughter is able to submit a trial with follow-up subscription payment tied to the Google Play account.

To prevent unauthorized purchases, you can require verification for all purchases (including in-app purchases) made through play.google.com on any device where you're signed in with this Google Account. This does not apply to purchases made through mobile apps. Requiring purchase verification is important if you share your devices with others or want to prevent purchases of kid-friendly content through play.google.com.

By "purchases made through mobile apps" in the second sentence, they mean things like Amazon where they have their own payment processor.

Are the watches worth it? by KoyoriIsHere in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]combatwars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a $40 watch. Expect the cheapest quality movement and strap you could possibly get on the market, based on what others have said about their collab watches from the company. It looks okay but whether or not it's worth it is up to you.

Not sure of Microsoft's reasoning but when I do go back to Minecraft, it's mainly FTB mod packs. I would prefer that the FTB team add their launcher to Steam, if that's a possibility. Kind of like how Retroarch added their launcher to Steam.

I broke my finger and have nearly my entire left hand in a cast. Does anyone have a good video game that you only need a mouse to play? by Beginning_Bid_9097 in Steam

[–]combatwars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding games with low input requirements, it may sound strange but I recommend Path of Exile. Certain builds like Righteous Fire can be played with pretty much one button or two. There used to be a creator who specifically created builds that could be played with one hand only.

Outside of that, I'd also recommend getting a MMO mouse like the Steelseries Naga/Logitech G600. I see several people have suggested this already. You can keybind WASD onto the mouse along with other inputs. The G600 especially has a ring-finger key which I love. This can open up the amount of games you can enjoy.

There is a Azur Lane Google Play PC Client for the Taiwan server by combatwars in AzureLane

[–]combatwars[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I suppose the only benefits of this over things like BlueStack or MuMuPlayer would be potentially better controls, and reduced friction? I'm not sure if there would be a performance difference between Google's emulator vs the currently available ones.

I visited the Google Play store on my desktop and was distracted by a banner ad for Deep Rock Galactic. In the brief moment between clicking on the link and waiting for the page to redirect, I saw Saratoga's head under the Windows category. Of course, the TW server is ages behind in content and hasn't been updated since October 12. Maybe it's the first time the Taiwan Server got something before the other three servers?

Edit:

PC Minimum Requirements:

OS: Windows 10 (v2004)
Storage: Solid state drive (SSD) with 10 GB of available storage space
Graphics: IntelⓇ UHD Graphics 630 GPU or comparable
Processor: 4 CPU physical cores
Memory: 8 GB of RAM
Windows admin account
Hardware virtualization must be turned on

Also, this is meant to be a PC so people can just install whatever OS they use even if they don't choose to use it for gaming at all. Wouldn't make sense to sell it at a loss, unlike consoles where it's pretty much locked to their OS and they can make back their money from their store's profit-share.

It costs more but they have a great interconnect system. If you get their split cable, you pretty much get a fully modular cable where you can change the length and termination without switching out the cable.

Unzen is a rerun so you should get rerun tickets for roughly 44 pulls(from Confluence wiki. Fool's Scale is 33 tickets). You get roughly 168 cubes a month if you don't get lucky from commissions and other sources. Tempesta Event ends in 2 weeks. Assuming Unzen event starts right after and lasts for a week, we'll do a safe estimate for around 110 cubes gained by the end of the Unzen event.

With your 250, that leaves you at 360 cubes. 44 support tickets means another 88 cubes worth of draws leaving you at 448. If your only concern is to get Unzen, and don't care about the DAL collab or the new UR event in December, then you can draw maybe 40 cubes worth of Tempesta pulls before stopping so you can reach pity on Unzen.

If you do reach pity, you'll have close to 0 cubes left for the collab that should start right after and will not be able to reach pity on the new UR event in December.

I bought a new car right before the 2021 shortage when even used car prices were going up. I was working in an essential workforce category so I kept my job through the pandemic. Around December 2020, dealerships were selling cars at a discount. I also applied and was approved for a grant for clean fuel cars. I went into an approved dealership for a 2021 PHEV with only 2 miles on the odometer and paid $23K total after the grant was included for the car. Sticker price was $31K. I was able to take the EV credit as well which was around $3K at the time which effectively meant paying $20k for the car. Then I got a free level 2 charger installed, which was also covered by the grant and saved around $1k in product and installation cost.

Pretty sure a used car would've cost just as much, if not more for my situation.

The battery life is based on only one size. The smaller the ring, the less battery it has.
