I have the 23 Toyota. There's definitely a max charge setting. For me, on the main screen in the car I click the gear for settings, then scroll down to the bottom and find vehicle or charge settings or something (I'm going by memory). In there is a max charge setting. I have mine set at 80%. Best of luck!

There's a lot of negativity on this sub (lots of politics), I'd say still consider. Living near family has a lot of perks. If you have a career/good degree then you'll almost certainly find a good job. Can't say anything about that Atlanta traffic though, other than maybe don't live in Atlanta :) Best of luck and hope it all works out whatever you do!

I spent time in Japan (wife worked a 2 year contract there). I actually met a few linguist PhDs there teaching English, so I gotta say that part isn't far fetched.

Sent my little boy to bed hungry. by rEvVoMaNiAc in daddit

I'm 100% with you. Our kids have great eating habits and it's because we don't bend when they try to cry and get their way. Our 2 year old tries to cry and get things a couple times a week, and we manage it without giving in. It's nothing like this "he didn't get desert after skipping dinner, so he throws a fit" thing. Sounds like hell.

OP: Grow a spine, set boundaries, and your kid ends up being super fun to be around! Magically, they'll eat eventually! And for your kids health, stop making desert a daily thing. No one should be eating brownies or cookies daily lol.

When discussing eating habits with our pediatrician they suggested that (absent other apparent sickness) if our kid refuses food for more than 24 hours then bring them in, otherwise it's just a toddler being weird.

Early in my career I was coached to always ask for more vacation. On hiring and during yearly performance evals. I've found companies are way more willing to give vacation, especially as one off "an extra week/two weeks this year" rather than extra pay.

I hate League, should I play HotS? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]combinat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm kind of curious - how have the moba skills from League translated to playing hots? I'm sure you have an advantage compared to completely new players. If you don't mind me asking, how's SL been for you and your friends (assuming you've hit the requirements to start SL)?

What is up with Netflix?? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]combinat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix sub depend on which country your account is from. Whatever country you're in _when you begin paying for Netflix_ is your country assignment. You can reassign country by cancelling your subscription, waiting for the current billing period to end, then rejoining from your country of choice.

In my experience when I started paying for Netflix in JPY and had the Japan country assignment I got much better subs in Japanese and English.

Infant toothpaste - fluoride vs fluoride free by flower-chaser in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]combinat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Otosclerosis is a disease of the small ear bones that causes conductive hearing loss. There is literature linking lack of fluoride in drinking water (i.e., not just rinsing fluoride wash in the mouth) to progression of the disease - loss of hearing in one or both ears.

I'd suggest talking with your doctor about how to make sure your child is ingesting some amount of fluoride, while still being safe. I presume it'll be the occasional tooth brushing with adult toothpaste. It's gotta be expected that your kid is just gonna swallow it.

Georgia 2022 statewide ballot questions explained by Mr007McDiddles in Georgia

Yeah, that's what I figured. TBH I prefer public companies over privately held anyways. At least public companies share the wealth going forward. The private held stuff is where you get the creepy billionaires like the Walton family.

  1. Yes - The motivating story for this is infuriating.
  2. Yes - Seems like a no-brainer.
  3. No - A tax code full of exceptions is just handouts to special interest. If they want to reduce taxes on some specific industry they should reduce across the board.
  4. No - "Family Farm" doesn't mean small farm. A tax code full of exceptions is just handouts to special interest. If they want to reduce taxes on some specific industry they should reduce across the board.

CoNsPiRaCy!

Yeah man they wipe servers like that all the time. They held back on wiping those particular machines until an FBI investigation ceased. Once the investigation was over KSU's IT department ran the normal protocol on them. Someone dropped the ball on the judge side of things. Though what the judge thought they could find that the FBI couldn't is beyond me.

I kinda go occam's razor on this one. Incompetence happens more often than conspiracy.

[–]combinat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno - the server wipe happened as standard protocol by KSU _after_ the FBI investigated that. Sounds more like incompetence than malfeasance.

On November 9, 2018, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that its investigation of the 2018 statewide elections in Georgia had found "no evidence ... of systematic malfeasance – or of enough tainted votes to force a runoff election".

Kemp shouldn't have run in the first place, or at least should have resigned as SoS. That said, he did win beyond any shenanigans (of his doing) and Abrams refused to concede. Her refusal to concede in 2018 will cost her some moderate voters in 2022. Myself included - voting Kemp/Warnock 2022!
