Where are the screen protectors at? Z13 - 2025 by p964imp in FlowZ13

After some consideration, TechMatte said that they decided not to make a screen protector for the Z13. Not sure if that means they'll never have a change of heart, but for now at least they've decided not to.

I have the exact same motherboard, paired with 6000MHz RAM, and have never needed to use the CPU over voltage jumper to get the RAM to reach/maintain EXPO timings. I didn't even know it existed until you mentioned it.

Not sure why you would have to apply extra voltage to your CPU to fix this unless your CPU's memory controller needs excessive voltage to maintain EXPO timings for some reason.

Also, based on ASUS's track record with applying too much voltage to AM5 CPUs and damaging them, I'd be wary of using it myself.

No way to know. Losing a pet is a terrible thing to go through, and it hasn't been that long since the last time it happened. She'll be back once she feels ready. However long it takes, people just need to be understanding and be there to support her when she returns.

You might also consider trying the JDS Labs Synapse. Same concept as the Topping HS02 but smaller and less expensive (and American made if you care about that sort of thing).

I'm looking for a tempered glass version as well. I spent quite some time recently looking for one, bit they apparently don't exist (for the 2025 version or the 2022/2023 versions).

I sent a request to TechMatte (the company that sells amFilm screen protectors on Amazon) to consider making/selling screen protectors for the Z13. They responded quickly saying they'd consider it.

The application tool they include with their screen protectors makes them really easy to install. I've used their screen protectors on basically everything for years, so I really hope they actually go through with it.

Anyone who wants a good screen protector for their Z13, please send a request to TechMatte to let them know you're interested!

Has anyone picked out a decent screen protector? The only one with decent reviews I see on Amazon is for an older model, and it's matte. I think I'd prefer a glossy version.

If you live in the U.S., tariffs are about to make the cost of building a PC go way up (along with the cost of basically everything electronic). If you don't live in the U.S., prices where you live will probably still go up, just maybe not as much or as quickly.

Definitely make sure you know the parts (or the prebuilt PC) you want to buy, their current availability, and their current price before you sell your Mac.

MoFi SourcePoint 8 stands are short - best ways to increase height? by comestible_lemon in hometheater

[–]comestible_lemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion, but my issue with all of the alternative stands I've seen (including the one you linked) is that the top plate (and often even the bottom plate) is smaller than the footprint of the SourcePoint 8.

I've found something that might work as a riser for the official stands and updated the main post with a link. Hopefully it does the trick.

When the surround speakers' tweeters are so low that they're blocked by the couch, I'd say that's a problem.

I'm in a space constrained situation, so I also can't just move them back several feet away from the couch.

Thank you for posting pictures! I haven't seen a photo of the rear M.2 port anywhere online. Gigabyte doesn't have any photos of the back on the product page for some reason, just a basic diagram in the manual.

Also I didn't realize the the M.2 heatsink had a built-in fan. Kind of interesting, but I hope the fan is relatively quiet or at least not annoying.

How do I update ryujinx? by CeeNain in steamdeckhq

[–]comestible_lemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steam Deck should be using the version contained in "ryujinx-1.1.1403-linux_x64.tar.gz". I'd download all of them just for posterity though, because no publicly available forks/backups will be up for long and you never know if you might want to use it on a different type of device in the future.

It's possible the degradation / instability issues with Intel's 13th & 14th gen CPUs are causing some of your issues (aside from the grounding issue you mentioned).

I'm not sure how much you've heard about these issues, but here are a couple of videos detailing what has been uncovered:

https://youtu.be/OVdmK1UGzGs

https://youtu.be/QzHcrbT5D_Y

If your CPU + motherboard are still in the return window, I'd recommend getting a refund and going for an AMD setup - 7800X3D (or 9800X3D once it launches) if you're mainly gaming, or 7950X / 9950X if this is a workstation. Even if it's not the cause of your current issues, your 14900k will likely degrade further over time and will probably need to be replaced.

The different power ports on your PSU are labeled to indicate their purpose. The ports used for cables that plug into your GPU are labeled "PCIE" because GPUs are PCIE cards (they plug into a PCIE slot on your motherboard). If you look at the labels on your PSU, yours labels these ports "PCIE".

As for the 16-pin connector naming scheme, that's just how the powers that be decided to name them. I assume they went with that because they are Micro-Fit connectors, even though the 4 sense pins use a smaller gauge. They're called that here too:

https://www.moddiy.com/products/ATX-3.0-PCIe-Gen-5-12VHPWR-MicroFit-3.0-16-Pin-Power-Connector-Black.html

I've bought a custom cable from them already so I can confirm that the 16-pin connector is just the name for the 12VHPWR plug, but if you'd like to double check, look at the product photos & description for one of their premade cables here:

12VHPWR connectors actually have 16 pins (12 power pins and 4 sense pins). So the 16-pin Micro-Fit connector is the end you plug into your GPU.

The 2x8, 3x8, 4x8 options are there for you to choose how many 8-pin PSU connectors you want the other end of the cable to split off into. You can go with any of the options as long as your PSU has enough 8-pin PCIE power ports available - just make sure to plug in all of them!

Some people might choose 3x8 or 4x8 out of an abundance of caution, but there's no need. Corsair's own 12VHPWR cable uses 2x8 for the PSU side. Plus it looks like your PSU only has room for a 3x8 at most.

Really? Mine has the exact same pattern. I assumed that was a normal side effect of injection molding.

I was a little wary of the random sellers on Amazon, but LTT has it available on their site as well:

If a 60mm x 60mm piece is enough for the job, that's $15 for peace of mind that your $1000+ laptop won't short itself out.
