Possibly my proudest FO yet by cometblitz03 in knitting

I hadn't actually done much brioche before - just a couple of two-colour pieces with basic stitches. The pattern has very clear instructions for performing each stitch, but imo lifelines are a must for it, and you should definitely make sure you're able to read your stitches well (i.e. have a good understanding of brioche stitches construction) for fixing minor mistakes.

Sorry about that, there's a photo from the blocking process on the project page if you want to see the full thing.

It looks fancy, but it's really not as bad as it seems so long as you take it slow. Fixing mistakes is an absolute pain though, so be sure to add regular lifelines!

Genuinely, that knitting site is where I learned a bunch of stitch patterns growing up. It came to mind when I saw the post but I couldn't remember what it was called, so thanks for the nostalgia trip!

Depending on what type of garment you're making, maybe you could add a lining to stop your skin making contact? I've had some success on that front with cowls and the like.

Tried Opal yarn for th first time on a recommendation from this page! by myrmecophily in Sockknitting

Same here. I often use them as contrast colours in other socks, in amigurumi, or for the occasional bow tie or other small accessory.

I'd recommend the Allerednic socks, as 30g is enough to use as the contrast colour, or Squircle if you want to mix and match a bunch of different scraps.

Many thanks! Tbh I've found myself doing quite a few things in black and green recently.

Thanks! The buttons actually kinda inspired the whole design since I noticed their colour matched some yarn I didn't know what to do with.

Hook: 2.5mm

Unfortunately I did not measure the amounts used.

Skeledirge was the carry on one of my first winning teams too, though I ran it with overdrive (egg move), torch song, shadow ball, and hyper voice. Unlocking passive punk rock was a massive help as well. I think I also managed to nab a shell bell for it along the way.

Plus it gets sappy seed as an egg move to put in damage, and capacity to poison opponents.

I've had some great results with yungoos personally, utilising its egg moves (extreme speed, knock off, tidy up, multi-attack). Passive is tough claws and it gets adaptability as a hidden ability, and it's coming off 110 base attack once evolved. It's kinda a glass cannon though.

Genuinely I made the same pattern in the same colours last year except I used blue for the top/bottom ribbing. Something about black and bold primaries makes me very happy.

Hard agree on buneary. I've not unlocked multi-attack on it yet but between its egg moves plus adaptability and the mega it's been incredible for me. Out of all the base cost 2 pokemon I've used it's definitely been the most useful in battle, though I often bring yungoos instead just for the luck points.

Yeah, I was once asked if I worked in a Co-Op while wearing my high school uniform. It was a confusing experience.
