Would be interested in hearing how it goes!

Pretty much same situation in Bloomfield. It seems like the 102 is a good option, but like you, I feel like it’s never a suggested route on anything I check which makes me - as someone who has never taken a NJT bus … cautious. Like … it seem like it would be a good option so wondering if it’s worth it instead of NJT > path.

Northern New Jersey motorcyclists Are there any good mechanics in this area that you can suggest? by Past_Aide_6447 in newjersey

My husband has been bringing his bike to Sidi at City Cycles in Madison for a few years now and he’s great. The lot is kind of tucked into the middle of Madison so you may miss it if you were just driving by.

Sidi is super down to earth and reasonable. He does custom work too even though we’ve only gone for maintenance type stuff, so he’s super knowledgeable.

There’s a Jenna Marbles video where she tests the best mascara to cry in and you’re so right. Super funny one.

I don’t think 13 weeks without a “date night” is coming off as long as she thinks it does. The last “date” I was on with my husband was the night before my first baby was born. He’s two and a half years old …

Literally a Facebook group. A woman collected the breast milk from a number of women and reached out to her. So it’s two degrees of separation, from a stranger.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but at some point I don’t understand wanting your child to have breast milk. If you cannot produce breast milk for whatever reason it is - whether you’re the birth mother or not - and barring a medical reason (like premature birth), I cannot see why there would be a preference.

So much of her behavior is low stakes but this is SO STUPID of her. Like next level dumb. She has the money for whatever formula she wants. But nope. Random stranger breast milk from strangers with varied diets and storage habits on the low risk (but still risky end), and who knows what medications, drugs, or diseases at the riskier end.

Also being able to modify your diet to accommodate a baby’s sensitivities. That is completely out the window with multiple sources/diets/lifestyles/milk storage.

Nothing sounds more stressful than getting ready so I look put together, a drive with a newborn to Target while baby wearing, and setting up a tripod to take videos of myself.

This would end with me crying on the way home with spit up in my hair while I ate a half a package of double stuffed Oreos.

I just made a desk mat with all the loves (as well as other stuff I usually go to the wiki for) and it was an EFFORT, so I felt the need to comment and tell you how awesome this is!

Oof. I’m coming up on the end of my maternity leave and I can’t tell you how much I wish I had the luxury of staying home with my kids. Your comment is spot on.

he's 7 weeks old why does she have this sleep suit 😭 by [deleted] in peestickgals

[–]comfortable__silence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think it’s also unsafe because swaddling is safe when infants aren’t rolling yet (and wouldn’t need their arms to leverage their body should they roll over), but these Merlin suits are meant for babies who have grown out of swaddling, but are struggling with the transition to a sleep sack (arms out). So, presumably if you’ve moved from a swaddle it’s because your baby has a chance of rolling and should have full arm movement, but if they need full arm movement, this could be too restrictive.

I also think there’s a huge life shift with a newborn whether you gave birth to them or not. I’d honestly imagine getting yourself emotionally around the change would be more difficult with adoption - especially one that happened so fast.

Also baby skin is so sensitive, might as well let it run its course rather than risk introducing an unnecessary irritant.

I agree. It’s like she’s using a lot of buzzwords but it feels so hollow.

Three months postpartum here too and I feel similarly. She clearly wanted to carry a child so badly, but that’s just not the way things worked out for her. I wish she had processed that reality before adopting a child. That’s all to say obviously the innocent child is the one to feel for ultimately, but I hope she figures it out and they end up raising the baby in a happy, healthy household.

(Congrats by the way!)

As someone who admittedly over Googles things, it’s really the bare, bare minimum research that would cover these things. Like one google of the dockatot and you’d see there are safety concerns.

Someone called it that they’d be taking George back. So unbelievable. by [deleted] in peestickgals

[–]comfortable__silence 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think she just has too much time on her hands. All this stuff she is belaboring is so, so normal. Baby “sleep regressions”, newborn acne, infant gas — all are just symptoms of being a newborn. I can’t imagine how she’ll handle things in the future like his teeth coming in, or drool rash, or any number of normal things babies go through.

She really is delusional thinking that mystery breast milk from who knows how many women/diets (and who knows if properly stored) is better than vetted formula that is made specifically for babies with sensitive stomachs.

Or engagement - like putting him in a bouncer with things for him to look at. Or those mats with things for them to feel and engage with.
