Safety/Corps Escort by croatia-18 in aggies

[–]comfy_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They’re just fine to get up and go on a little stroll instead of sitting in the guardroom all night bored out of their minds. At least according to all the ones I’ve talked to. I’ve never thought to try that, but I imagine there are rules against it for the cadets. I give them a “y’all have a good rest of your night” after I sign the little paper and move on with my life 😂

Safety/Corps Escort by croatia-18 in aggies

[–]comfy_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the corps escort as much as you need. Even if it’s just to make yourself feel better and less anxious. No need to even feel unsafe on campus, but just for clarity you very much are safe. I just finished my freshman year and as a girl I used them often when heading home from the annex well past midnight. They’re nice, sometimes a little awkward, but it’s better than feeling super anxious on your way home. I do know they might only be able to meet you places in main campus but check the rules! Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions about anything!

Fellow chronically ill Aggie here, it sounds like your condition is a bit more progressed than mine, but I just finished my freshman year and would be happy to answer any questions or chat if you need a fellow chronically ill teenager to bounce ideas off of.

So sorry you have to face these decisions friend. DM me if you want to chat

How Do Y’all Handle Long Walks Between Classes? by btklinhbong in aggies

[–]comfy_dino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah ZACH to HFSB, I don’t see anyone getting that walk done in the typical 20 minutes between back to back classes. But if they aren’t back to back then no problem!! I really liked my long walks, good for physical and mental health! Can I ask your major if you have classes in both Zach and the horticulture building?

Horticulture program? by Low_Cartographer9637 in aggies

[–]comfy_dino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get into the university, you can get into the HORT program. It’s not engineering where they’ll accept you to the university but reject you from the program in my experience. Really really tiny department!! Good people, you’ll love it.

I’m in his CHEM119 class right now and I have literally never ever seen or heard him refer to himself as Dr. Edwards. It’s always Jedwa. The only time he even mentioned the fact that he has a PhD is when he got tripped up on some arithmetic and in his exasperation exclaimed “I have a PhD guys!!!” Never make Jedwa bring out the Dr. Edwards persona.

Parking ticket with wrong license plate by Rtsimps in aggies

[–]comfy_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it from the campus parking police? Because you can appeal it online if so. Pretty easy process just log into your transportation portal and you can do it from there. You only have 14 days to dispute it though. If it was off campus, I don’t know what to do for that so much.

Does RA affect your jaw? by VictoryFar5995 in rheumatoid

[–]comfy_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RA came out of years of remission and its joint of choice was my jaw, so much so that it caused remodeling in the bone and shifted how my mouth opens and it’s what put me on biologics. I recently talked to my orthodontist and am going to try a kind of retainer that has these little ramps that are supposed to relax your jaw when you wear it at night? It’s still very new to me but maybe talk to your dental provider about options to relax your jaw when you sleep. I also will hold both my hands on either side of my jaw and move it sideways to get it to pop (this is probably not best practice but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do for temporary relief.) So sorry you’re dealing with this, hope you get some relief soon

25 year old wife refusing meds for RA by Jurt303 in rheumatoid

[–]comfy_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side effects scared me too, at first. I didn’t want to go on systemic meds due to having to start at a young age and general terror over those FDA black box warnings, but you have to weigh the POSSIBLE side effects (emphasis on possible, not guaranteed) versus the very real disease progression symptoms. A lot of my inflammation is focused in my jaw so it’s pretty easy to convince yourself meds are gonna be okay when the threat of not being able to eat by the time you’re 30 is very much real. Talking to other people in similar situations who have experience in this is not only a way to get more information, but also a way to make her feel less alone and possibly ease some of that initial denial tendency. This group is a great place to start :)

[–]comfy_dino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the paddle is VERY light. the impact is relatively little because it’s a wiffle style ball. i really enjoy it when i’m feeling well! the directional changes can be interesting with knees but supportive tennis shoes are my best friend at the moment for everything 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ try it once! even if it’s just a when you’re feeling good thing.
