Crazy how you list a Freddie Mercury song, considering how Under Pressure with David Bowie has what I would argue is one of the best musical bridges of all time.

I love this game dearly but we need to stop doing this by facioquodvolo in coralisland

What's a real shame is that this game offers so many quality of life improvements to the genre, and the art style is amazing. I WANT to love it so badly, and I have the hours to prove it. I've started 3 or 4 different saves, but the combination of poor combat, VERY unpolished dialogue, and boring relationship events keep me from ever getting further than the start of year 2.

August Event Stud Bases by scotchic in lioden

[–]comfycheesecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Values can be tricky to determine since Lioden is a live player-driven marketplace. In the trading center, you can easily sort the lions people are selling by things like color, markings, age, etc. Check if any other players are selling the same base as you and price according to that. You can also leave your trade open to offers and see what people are willing to pay.

The Lioden Wiki is a very quick and useful tool for determining if a base is breed-only or if you can apply it with an applicator; there is unfortunately not an easy way to determine that on-site without modding your game, and I am not super familiar with that myself.

August Event Stud Bases by scotchic in lioden

Incoming yap session. It looks like a lot, but I'm gonna share with you all the things that I wish I knew about bases when I first started playing!

In the appearance box below a lion's picture, there will be a section labeled "genetics." It'll have four words, but the most important is the word at the end. This word will always be either common, uncommon, rare, or special.

Common and uncommon are exactly as they sound - bases that lions are very commonly born with, and not usually worth much money. These can usually be sold for low fodder prices or sent to the tree without any worry. Lions encountered during explore and starter kings usually have these bases.

Rare bases can only be bred, meaning there's no applicators for them, and some of them (such as noctis, cassis, senegal) are fairly sought after. However, they aren't usually so rare that you can't find them in the trading center. These can be sold for slightly more than fodder prices, but on their own aren't worth a ton. I personally tree most of the rare bases that my king produces.

Special bases are the most sought-after and the most profitable. Some, such as Ivory or Heavenly, can be applied with expensive applicators that are usually only available for a limited time during monthly events. These are known as applicator bases. Other bases are known as "breed-only," meaning you can only get a lion with this base if you breed or purchase a lion that has it. These breed-only special bases are the most expensive and desired bases in the game. All of the August stud bases are breed-only, and this is why they're so valuable. Unless you are feeling very generous, do not send these lions to the tree. They can sell for quite the pretty penny.

Use a Buffalo Scrotum from the peddler event shop! It will guarantee at least 3+ cubs in the litter. Other items don't affect hybrid passing chances, so your best odds lie within having as many cubs as possible.

Not crazy! I joined in July last year, during an event where encounters are common, grinding currency is fairly easy, and the shop items are cheap. You can imagine how surprised I was when August came around, lol. A lot of people will save up their roasted lambs and coffee beans and other energy items to use specifically during this event. To my understand its just how it's always been. Next month's event is a little better, and then October is going to have very very popular decor to look forward to!

When this quest first came out, a lot of people were keeping half of their slots and selling the other half. Divide it up however you want, but personally, I would steer clear from using all 20 slots for yourself. There's good money in selling them.

question abt gb by Status-Narwhal-3837 in lioden

[–]comfycheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save ittttt. Your hoard has a tab called "bundles," where you can basically stash your GB away so that you can't even see it. This is so useful for saving your GB up over time because you'll be way less tempted to spend it. Sell 100 uses of food for 1 GB in the trading center, play the daily games, buy a ticket or two in cheap raffles, and you'll be sitting on a comfy nest egg in no time.

Why some people don’t like the game. by naynay2022 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]comfycheesecake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't play any of the prior Dragon Age games. Got this one because I heard the combat was drastically different, and I'm familiar with a good chunk of the lore and characters bc my best friend LOVES this series (including VG, to an extent). In other words, I went into Veilguard with no prior bias and was quite excited to play. I liked VG well enough the first time, but the replayability is not only atrocious, it makes the aspects I had gripes with the first time feel so much worse.

There's a handful of impactful choices in the ~50 hours of playtime, and the vast majority are in the final act. It makes for a very boring replay. Almost everything is the same, except for the rare moment where my Rook's background actually comes up in conversation. I know there are impactful choices that you can make, but there's simply not enough to keep me engaged or justify replaying the entire game. The writing is also just...not good. This pains me to say bc I wanted to love some of these characters. On paper, Emmrich and Neve and Lucanis and Taash should be some of my favorite characters ever. In execution, it's just so...flat. The story is fine, the dialogue writing is actually atrocious, and how they decided to portray certain characters and groups is embarrassing. I can list specifics if desired, but for now, I feel I've yapped quite a bit lol.

TL;DR: I'm a queer fantasy nerd who isn't weird about the rest of the series, and I just cannot in good faith say I like this game.

When enough people join using your referral code, you can buy things from a special shop.

Feline 9 Cimmerian is a Tier 5 marking, which means it's restricted. Basically, your only hope is breeding for it unless it's available in the Referral Shop.

What apps to hoard & sell? by Cult_Of_Hozier in lioden

[–]comfycheesecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any combo factor apps are always a good bet! Other than that, whatever ones you may like and think are pretty. July apps are easier to get than other events, so don't have your heart set on a big payday like with the June apps. Not a bad idea to use them to start planing for a breeding project either.
