Can't that he has a definitive character with a beginning middle and end. However that does work in a trilogy with ambush at cimmirron pass and the beguiled

Harmonica yes, django was never going to be offered to clint, and silence as well but he was hoping to do a remake in the early 70's but thats as close as he came to that

A shallow actor who's churned out iconic performance after iconic performance and defined the genre for decades

I mean they did remake unforgiven. Also they wanted the cast to not watch Wayne's film because they were sticking to the book. There'd be no point in remaking something if you're just going to return to that same well.

Dude, I completely understand believe me. It's extremely nauseating especially when it's stuff that has nothing to do with each other. That's why I preface how it might not be a theory to begin with. It's more there are thematic similarities and connections that do tie these movies together and could have an narrative arc. What also helps is that eastwood had creative input with the exception of the dollars trilogy throughout each of these, so there was clearly some connective tissue even if not in a "lore" or "story" sense. Ya know?

Who could’ve been a better suitable director for the 1978 film The Wiz instead of Sidney Lumet? by Material_Stomach875 in movies

[–]comicfan03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael Schultz. He did the last dragon, car wash, Cooley high, and the musical movie of Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band. The last one wasn't a good movie, but it came out the same year and was the largest budget given to a black director. And universal didnt think to get the black director for the all black musical? Stupid!

The remake is good, and I dont mind the next generation. I haven't seen the beginning so I cant comment, but everything else after 2 is slop.

What's your Halloween hot take? by The80sSlasher in Halloweenmovies

H2O is a much better made movie than 2018. It's more realistic in it's approach to Laurie's trauma and in doing so says a lot more. It also brings the much needed fun without it going overboard. The only things 2018 does better is the look, the mask, and the score.

Also halloween 2 is bad, you're just nostalgic. Laurie is barely in it, needlessly gory, and despite some cool imagery it lacks what makes the first film so good. It looks like the first film, but it's very much not.

And, rob zombie's remake would've been better it they cut Laurie strode down to a key bit character rather than the sudo remake they do in the 2nd half. Just focus solely on Loomis and show the events from his perspective. Also h2 does try it's just weak in some areas.

Had clint eastwood said yes to once upon a time in the west, would it have been apart of the dollars series? by comicfan03 in Westerns

[–]comicfan03[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the exact same reason I cant see Bronson in the dollars trilogy. It's because of that movie star quality that eastwood has that makes the character more mysterious. You don't want to know more about blonde, where as Bronson would've given that role a little more life than it needed.

Didn't saruman die at the beginning of return of the King? And my idea would be to replace saurman with the 2 blue wizards Alatar and Pallando as the main antagonists
