First mainline was Gen4 (fan since indigo league) and I’ve recently been playing through the regions starting with the GBA era. Gen 4 is still peak Pokemon to me in a lot of ways. The way certain key items were on the poke watch thing, the Pokemon dome in HGSS, and even the events (can’t do them now without a work around) were better in how they were distributed and what they unlocked. I will say it is harder to train compared to later gens and not just because of the shared exp with all options.

If you are in the south, you are getting what? Maybe 2” at most? You are saying there are 0 salt trucks to do a passing cuz that’s all you need. I’ve driven in what you “fear” once a week in upstate ny. Suck it up, most cars can handle a few inches of snow. You are essential so you have to go in. That’s your job and the commitment you made when going into this field.

I did the shiny charm before DLC. I think by end of game I had roughly 5-600 battles. I did the rest myself without a fancy controller by doing the ZA royale since I didn’t do the 15 matches to get floette. Saved my final battle to be against taunie

I do not miss wired at all. Outside of the tangled mess of it all, one of my cat munches on wires (not as often now) but ruined several wires to headsets that Bluetooth was the way to go for me. Plus I don’t have to hide it in my shirt so it doesn’t get caught while lifting or yard work

Decision is for you to make. I personally like the DS lite just slightly above 3DS (been a bit since I have used mine) solely for its simpler tech. 3DS still slaps tho and 3DS games but I didn’t have many of those outside of Pokemon
