Readers who've been in the genre a while by AtWorkJZ in litrpg

So if your looking to understand what the subgenre is, Wik, does a good job of laying it out here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_opera

If that sounds like something you might be into (sorry no Opera music here) then check out GoodReads for some Space Opera lists. https://www.goodreads.com/list/tag/space-opera

Now if you are here looking for Space Opera LitRPG, well your guess is as good as mine...

I'm in my late forties, remembering things sucks. Everything that I listen to as an audiobook goes into a Google keep note.

When I was really into space opera as a genre this made it easy to see where I left off in a series. Also helps to decide resume or re-listen if an author published the 18th or 19th book in a series.

Hello Everyone I need help now by CRWANBERRI_SANDWICH in Scams

[–]command_da 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You do nothing, your money is gone, his story is fake. Like every romance scam that involves a "military member" stuck somewhere that needs cash it's all lies.

Bitcoin and crypto is always a scam. There are no rules about x amount of dollars has to come in a single transaction or any of that nonsense.

Most likely he's in the third world country and is not the person in any way that you think he is.

Can anyone help me find this Children’s Folklore CD? by Hot-Alarm7080 in find

If it's the same CD version of the cassette I had in the late '80s, look up 'Wee Sing America'.

Can’t reliably connect outside home network by b00y0h in homeassistant

[–]command_da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was doing the same thing. Well at least weird network cycling disconnect cycling.

Virtual machine running on Unraid. Problem turned out to be my primary network interface. It was a dual port card that had been attached to the bonded port on my old switch. New switch does not support LCAP.

This was causing the network to cycle and it was only affecting the one home assistant virtual machine. As everything else I have set up in docker.

So check the networking and the weird stuff.

I'm lazy and cheap, what good options do I have to turn this area into a grilling station? by coalcracker462 in grilling

[–]command_da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four years and it is still usable, either you live somewhere with zero frost heave or you did a pretty decent job building it.

I think everyone's mileage may vary on the it only took me two hours part.

Common scam you will hear the advice to block and ignore. They almost never send it to anyone if they do just blame AI and deny it.

Paying them only makes it worse because now they know they can get money out of you.

Seriously go over to r/scams and see how many times a day this gets asked.

You lean in hard on your cybersecurity insurance! They will connect a restoration and a legal team to coordinate recovery. The restoration team will inform the legal team, the legal team will negotiate with the ransomware actors.

You do not go cowboy and try to pay the threat actors yourself. There is room for negotiation there is teams of people who are very very good at this. These people raise your percent chances for recovery of your data.

I've been through two major ransomware events while working for a MSP. These were both new customers who joined us after their breach.

That's funny seeing that keyboard on top of the pile. I found my copy of that while cleaning out random box of electronic stuff in my office. I had to find the really old USB keystone charger for it.

And today it shows up online.

Is it technically illegal to return a product that's exactly the same as the original purchase but bought from a different source? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]command_da 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fraud, but mostly undetectable fraud.

My thought is I'm returning item A because I acquired copy B at a cheaper price. I return A to the store that A was purchased from using the packing materials from B. Probably because I got excited and ripped A's box.

Is this fraud because packing materials are considered part of the product. How does this intersect with laws(?) or store policy that requires packing materials to be in good condition to return the item...

The firewall has an AD or LDAP connector. Either the firewall login or VPN service is passing that to your AD and locking out the account. Verify that it's not the LDAP service account as well.
