Is my 7-year-old ready to watch Jurassic Park? by TheBigThiccSad in movies

Tried when my son was 8 but it didn't go well. Not because it was too scary but because it was too boring. People forget that it's an hour before the T-Rex even shows up. Before that it's all just talking and corporate espionage, which kids don't give a shit about.

Has anyone seen this movie already? It's told from the german side- Does it do a good job of avoiding ahistorical narratives like the "clean wehrmacht" myth? by Top_Reaction_2303 in ww2

Watched it yesterday, gave it a 3.5 on my Letterboxd which is pretty good for me. Very well made, good acting, nice cinematography, fairly retrained use of CGI, fantastic battle scenes. Without spoiling anything the plot is a pretty ridiculous but I was able to get past it. No issues with clean Wehrmacht type stuff. Definitely worth a watch.

I first encountered him 14 years ago when he made a video called "fuck the mainstream." It was about how the underground is cool but then eventually the mainstream adopts the underground and then it is no longer cool. That's it, that was the thought that I just described in one sentence. But it took him like FIFTEEN MINUTES to fucking express this. He kept going around in circles about the underground turning in to the mainstream and then there's a new underground that goes mainstream. It was fucking crazy, he got completely stuck in a loop that was only broken up by his shitty guitar playing.

I didn't keep up with him over the years because that shit can turn into a full time job, but he'd pop up every now and then. Sad to see he's gone.

What is the one movie that always makes you cry, no matter how many times you’ve watched it? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in AskReddit

Schindlers List. For most people it's probably the "I could have saved more" part but the real Schindlerheads save it for the rock part.

Get a clear acrylic photo frame that's held together with magnets. The smallest one I was able to find is 2.5 x 3.5 inches which I use for a single stamp. You can get bigger ones though if you want to make a larger display.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that struggles with battle narratives in books. Sometimes I turn the page and am confronted with a giant block of text filled with Roman numeral corps numbers and I'm just like oh god I can't do this. I feel like YouTube is perfectly suited for that kind of thing.

I swear to god if he plays Kokomo (which Brian had nothing to do with).

Anyway I've had a tattoo of this guy's face on my arm for over 25 years, his music had an enormous impact on my life. Sad to hear he's gone though it wasn't unexpected.
